I'll wait for the first heat records to begin falling. in mid to late April. before I pop back in here to see how you's all doin' GrayWolf, Remember this post: Sadly the only thing the SSW was able to do was move cold from the Arctic? The 'cold' that some folk here were begging for (a re-run of 63') was never going to occur with such a 'warm' pole in comparison to then? There is a big difference between a healthy pole with a winter full of deep cold temps expanding into lower latitudes and a pole ,often anomalously warm, having another WAA event push it's cold away south? Well, that “cold” did occur & looks like it will still be here well into April. Your “unhealthy & warm” pole has given the NH a very harsh winter: With an errant Jet, it is very likely that the NH will experience heat, drought, flood and much more cold.

During the last Maunder Minimum one of the warmest days that was ever recorded in London..wasn't it? So together with this cold period coming, the summers will be extremely hot, dry and short in the NH! That's if we are entering a minimum such as the Maunder or Dalton..?

Spain is having record rainfall as for 1947, so we are in the fourties... always behind with respect to UK and USA... ;-))

Dr. Hansen is not totally nuts. pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/es3051197?source=cen"Because nuclear power is an abundant, low-carbon source of base-load power, on balance it could make a large contribution to mitigation of global climate change and air pollution. Using historical production data, we calculate that global nuclear power has prevented about 1.84 million air pollution-related deaths and 64 gigatonnes (Gt) CO2-equivalent greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions that would have resulted from fossil fuel burning."

Yeah Hansen is out to save the world and put the study behind a paywall! Even while drawing a salary from the folks he wants to save.

It´s well known that there are lobbies for fully supporting and subtle propaganda of either nukes, solar, wind, oil... These lobbies often ´touch´with their holy ´revelations´ ($) politicians, universities, journalist, scientific... for feeding further their permanent campaign... It always comes down to the money. Not surprise to me for a long time.

"“We need to put an honest price on carbon-based fuels which pays their cost to society,” Hansen said. He said some Republicans, who have traditionally rejected measures to fight climate change, are coming around to the concept of a carbon tax on fuels that is revenue-neutral, paying money back to the public, as supported by George Shultz, who was secretary of state under former President Ronald Reagan. "This is what it is really about he almost certainly has some money invested in one of the "carbon markets". As does the BBC and the Met Office pension funds. Back to the question at the beginning of the thread on trust in science.
