I would really like Trump to win - or, perhaps more accurately, I really want Biden/Harris to get crushed. (snip) The polling map is far worse than most of the forecast maps; as of right now it is Biden 291, Trump 119, tossup 128. So per the polling map Trump would not only have to win EVERY tossup state, he'd also have to flip Florida or at least *two* other states that are currently leaning Biden. www.270towin.com/maps/biden-trump-polling-mapHope is not a plan. Edit to add: I'm not trying to crush anyone's hopes; rather the opposite - I'm looking for a *reason* to be hopeful myself. I would be very happy if someone could show me one. OK, TINY hopeful sign - as of today while Trump is still at 119, Biden is *down* to 255. The "tossups" have picked up the balance.

I can remember my father talking of this approach being taken in the 1930's so it has been a long term approach. The cadre of people that were developing it in Europe were called 'The Frankfurt School'. They moved after the war to Colombia University then spread out from there. A group pushing their approach in UK is called 'Common Purpose'. See iep.utm.edu/frankfur/ (caution you may need strong coffee) For example: "Horkheimer’s aversion to so-called Lebensphilosophie (philosophy of life), he criticized the fetishism of subjectivity and the lack of consideration for materialist conditions of living. Furthermore, arguing against Cartesian and Kantian philosophy, Horkheimer, by use of dialectical mediation, attempted to rejoin all dichotomies including the divide between consciousness and being, theory and practice, fact and value. Differently from Hegelianism or Marxism, dialectics amounted for Horkheimer to be neither a metaphysical principle nor a historical praxis; it was not intended as a methodological instrument. On the contrary, Horkheimer’s dialectics functioned as the battleground for overcoming overly rigid categorizations and unhelpful dichotomies and oppositions. It originated from criticism by Horkheimer of orthodox Marxism’s dichotomy between productive structures and ideological superstructure, as well as positivism’s naïve separation of social facts and social interpretation."A simpler table of the Frankfurt School aims: You will notice the congruence with the Zero Hedge article.

Well well - that may be enough to get all the 'plotters' released on the grounds of entrapment

"The Rise of The Corporate Censors: How America Is Drifting Toward The Chinese Model Of Media
Below is my column in The Hill newspaper on the censorship of the Hunter Biden controversy by Facebook and Twitter. The response of the Biden campaign and figures like Rep. Adam Schiff has been to dismiss the story as the likely product of Russian intelligence. Notably however they do not address the underlying emails. As many of us have written, there is ample reason to suspect foreign intelligence and the FBI is reportedly investigating that possibility. However, that does not mean that the emails are not authentic. Hillary Clinton was hacked by Russia but the emails were still real. It is possible to investigate both those responsible for the laptop’s disclosure and what has been disclosed on the laptop. The censorship by these companies however has magnified concerns in the controversy, particularly with the disclosure of close connections between some company officials and the Biden campaign.
Chinese citizens watched President Xi Jinping deliver an important speech this week not far from Hong Kong. Well, not the whole speech: Xi apparently is ill, and every time he went into coughing spasms, China’s state media cut away so that he would be shown only in perfect health.
Xi’s coughs came to mind as Twitter and Facebook prevented Americans from being able to read the New York Post’s explosive allegations of influence-peddling by Hunter Biden through their sites. The articles cited material reportedly recovered from a laptop; it purportedly showed requests for Hunter Biden to use his influence on his father, then-Vice President Joe Biden, as well as embarrassing photos of Hunter Biden.
Many of us have questioned the sketchy details of how the laptop reportedly was left by Hunter Biden with a nearly blind computer repairman and then revealed just weeks before the presidential election. There are ample reasons to question whether this material was the product of a foreign intelligence operation, which the FBI apparently is investigating.
Yet the funny thing about kompromat — a Russian term for compromising information — is that often it is true. Indeed, it is most damaging and most useful when it is true; otherwise, you deny the allegations and expose the lie. Hunter Biden has yet to deny these were his laptop, his emails, his images. If thousands of emails and images were fabricated, then serious crimes were committed. But if the emails and images are genuine, then the Bidens appear to have lied for years as a raw influence-peddling scheme worth millions stretched from China to Ukraine to Russia. Moreover, these countries likely have had the compromising information all along while the Bidens — and the media — were denying reports of illicit activities."Much more here:> jonathanturley.org/2020/10/20/the-rise-of-the-corporate-censors-how-america-is-drifting-toward-the-chinese-model-of-media/As Apple is a Chinese company with a US headquarters, Google (Alfabet) does work for the PLA and CCP that it refuses to do for the US DoD, Google also developed the social scoring for the CCP; Facebook uses Chinese Nationals in its 'Hate Speech Identification' (Aka censorship) division. So the drift to Chinese media may not be accidental.

Received via email from an unspecified source:
You can't justify this insanity. We have become a nation that has lost its collective mind!
If a guy pretends to be a woman, you are required to pretend with him. Somehow, it's un-American for the census to count how many Americans are in America. Russians influencing our elections are bad, but illegals voting in our elections are good. It was cool for Joe Biden to "blackmail" the President of Ukraine, but it's an impeachable offense if Donald Trump inquiries about it. Twenty is too young to drink a beer, but eighteen is old enough to vote. People who have never owned slaves should pay slavery reparations to people who have never been slaves.. People who have never been to college should pay the debts of college students who took out huge loans for their degrees. Immigrants with tuberculosis and polio are welcome, but you'd better be able to prove your dog is vaccinated. Irish doctors and German engineers who want to immigrate to the US must go through a rigorous vetting process, but any illiterate gang-bangers who jump the southern fence are welcome. $5 billion for border security is too expensive, but $1.5 trillion for "free" health care is not. If you cheat to get into college you go to prison, but if you cheat to get into the country you go to college for free. People who say there is no such thing as gender are demanding a female President. We see other countries going Socialist and collapsing, but it seems like a great plan to us. Some people are held responsible for things that happened before they were born, and other people are not held responsible for what they are doing right now. Criminals are caught-and-released to hurt more people, but stopping them is bad because it's a violation of THEIR rights. And pointing out all this hypocrisy somehow makes us "racists"?! Nothing makes sense anymore, no values, no morals, no civility and people are dying of a Chinese virus, but it racist to refer to it as Chinese even though it began in China. We are clearly living in an upside down world where right is wrong and wrong is right, where moral is immoral and immoral is moral, where good is evil and evil is good, where killing murderers is wrong, but killing innocent babies is right.
Wake up America, the great unsinkable ship Titanic America has hit an iceberg, is taking on water, and is sinking fast. The choice is yours to make. What will it be? Time is short, make your choice wisely!

For 'Cuba' insert 'Bahamas' "A Chinese enterprise is now pouring about three billion dollars into Freeport in the Bahamas, 87 miles east of Palm Beach. I think that we are going to see, unless the US stops it, the People's Liberation Army with a naval base 87 miles east of Palm Beach."www.gatestoneinstitute.org/16705/china-existential-threat

It is a real curiosity what Twitter considers against its rules and totally bans from its site and what gets a message but they allow to stay up. So calling for the murder of millions of Frenchmen is OK ... as it may be in the public interest. Really?

There are a lot of people that believe what is fed them by the Tech/mainstream media. If I have learned one thing in the last 4 years, it is that people have been so surprisingly easy to fool that they even believe their own propaganda. Wherever Jack Dorsey or Mark Zuckerberg look on twitter and facebook the left is winning, all the old broadcast and print media are saying the same apart from the occasional "Russian disinformation". The polls show HUGE historic gains for the socialist left....... in one giant overinflated confirmation bias bubble Along come commentators who normally use a set of 'indicators' really other people's reporting and they put a layer of superficially logical assumptions and forecasts on top of the confirmation bias indicators, then second level and tertiary level commentators do the same and soon - like Baghdad Bob they believe what they are spouting (but are less entertaining). The line of po-faced talking heads on CNN and broadcast news all using the same catch phrases du jour, delivering the narrative they have been told to a surprisingly small audience in the bubble - which of course includes the aforementioned Dorsey and Zuckerberg. This is starting to look like a giant feedback loop. Then they roll out Obama and Biden into the real world where real people are living and doing real work and they can barely fill a car park that is more than half full of media (trying to make the shots tight enough to hide the lack of support). Amazing as the same thing on twitter got thousands of retweets? Normal indicators have ceased to be reliable. e.g. Registered Democrats are voting early in large numbers so this is how far Biden is ahead (but are 30% of them voting for Trump as the attendees at his late night in the cold rallies seem to suggest?) perhaps the idea of counting who early votes are registered for is no longer useful. So after all that I think that the base assumptions and premises of Fabius are incorrect. Such people are in for an extremely rude awakening. For all their geeky cleverness the 'tech' companies have little grasp of human factors. Or as Abraham Lincoln said: "“You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.” We are in that last clause. The tech giants have now 'shot their bolt' as: ""After you have convinced people that you fervently believe your cause to be more important than telling the truth, you've lost the power to convince them of anything else." (Megan McArdle) and again we are in the last clause.
