Now is the time to get into cobra skin farming Big tech fines need to be percentages of worldwide turnover - when the EU did that with their fines Google started backpedaling hard whereas fines in $billions were not even seen as a reason to phone to discuss the problems. 4% of google worldwide turnover however got their attention. www.gamingtechlaw.com/2019/10/gdpr-fines-calculation.html

I'm more worried about a large asteroid impact then I am about COVID-19.

I like it - the long-marchers of Big Chalk. Those people need to be seriously resisted "to the full extent of the law", and perhaps beyond.

When I crossed to this side of the Atlantic, it was immediately apparent that banned words were different. So in UK the done 'woke' thing in the late 1990's was to avoid all use of the word 'black'. Blackboards became 'chalk boards', black coffee became 'no milk' etc etc. If you had to refer to someone's skin colour they were white or coloured. The same usage over here was NOT accepted. No problem with Black, indeed if you called someone 'coloured' they could get upset. Strangely, that has now altered and someone like Meghan Merkel will call herself 'a woman of color'. So as far as I can see this is all fake, so called 'cultural appropriation' is only a problem if someone 'white' tries to adopt a black fashion. Hair straighteners are not banned nor are European style dresses for 'African American girls'. All the empty head fashionista follow the trends in speech and dress and attitudes almost certainly without conscious thought. Then along come the university 'acting professors' (PhD students with a requirement to publish at least 6 papers in the year) and all of a sudden the shallow fashion following is given a patina of reason, if one paper like that gets published then at least another 10 from similar sources perhaps even 're-authored' by the professor monitoring the 'acting professor' (a common occurrence if the paper looks like it might be published somewhere interesting) slowly what was just a passing fashion trend is cast in academic stone and defended on TV if necessary by eager for name recognition, PhD and post-doc students. You will have seen the slow rise of some of these in the 'News' programs where the same smile and gabble faces appear repeatedly. There is $lots for the successful ones not to mention tenured positions at their Universities.

You, Nautonnier III, have coined a new phrase, worthy of higher honours, a phrase that would have made former Aussie PM Paul Keating proud.

But even he has swallowed the great exageration it seems. The iceberg is not a small increase in temperature with an abundance of energy. It IS a rush to eliminate cheap dependable energy in the face of a rapidly cooling climate that has nothing to do with our activities. Watch the bodies pile up. How the politicians will howl and transfer blame. “One is left with the thought that given the way we now abuse the ocean and abuse the climate that we are heading towards our own iceberg, which is looming on the horizon. It's not visible yet but it certainly exists there and it won't be my generation that has to deal with the fact that the world is not bountiful forever, that the ocean and the atmosphere are not free goods to be abused, that will have to feed these vast populations. That will be your generation.”

Yes. Major elements of a whole generation (and their younger, believing followers) blithely following the road to a misconceived future. Will history judge them kindly? We have seen their ilk before. In his last days, did Napoleon sadly regret his choice of forecasters?

All depends on who writes the history Gretchen Whitmer or Ron DeSantis If nothing succeeds like success, then nothing fails like failure. No twist of literary effort can ultimately hide the failure, and its authors, except in the self-rationalizong minds of the true believer. And even they, in their last moments, will know the truth. In God we trust. All others have to explain their actions.

I see zero chance of a constructive response to Marc, the activists do not understand what they are proposing so they cannot provide cogent arguments for or against - so the only response they have is 'racist!!' Cancel Morano as he disagrees that raising taxes in the USA will reduce the temperature of the West Pacific.
