You did not find that paper ... gee what a surprise! That was supposed to be 100% there and myself 100% wrong, eh? Numerouno: There are 100's of papers on Norway glaciers. This one isn't too bad from a quick initial read. You just keep looking and you will find the paper that I read awhile ago. Thanks.

Nope Sigurdur, you do the searching, not me.
It's your damage control job now that it's clear your references always tend to go strangely missing, just as I said in the beginning.

Being in the UK, I am fascinated by Numerouno's glaciation pictures a few posts ago. Sorry, don't know how to insert that one picture with the happy mammoth on it. Despite searching, I cannot find any current information about Norway's glaciers and wonder why the data isn't easily searchable. The best I can do is this article published in 2005 which talks about retreat. www.cicero.uio.no/fulltext/index_e.aspx?id=3561Where can we find latest data? Thank you! I'll see what I can do in the Norwegian speaking side. Something I found right away was "Brikdalsbreen back 534 meters in 16 years" (2012) www.nrk.no/sognogfjordane/briksdalsbreen-tilbake-534-meter-1.8360158

Numno, apparently the autocensor doesn't allow this link. You will have to put an "a" in for the "*" yourself. What the link portrays is some bronze and iron age artifacts being discovered as glaciers have melted in Norway.

I am talking about latest, up to date information...
Being suspicious about these things I wonder if the data is so sensitive the public can't be allowed to find it.

What data would be so sensitive that is would be "banned form the public"? The simple fact of life is that not all research data is automatically published according to any schedule. Science projects are always underfunded and can work on-off-on for a longer time as financing allows.

What the link portrays is some bronze and iron age artifacts being discovered as glaciers have melted in Norway. The finds were leftovers from reindeer hunters. hol.sagepub.com/content/22/4/485Reindeer herds will try to escape the pestering swarms of mosquitoes during the (late) summer. The swarms may sometimes drive the herds into a outright mad panic. Up in the mountains is the best place to be as the mosquitoes will shun snow and ice. The ancients would hunt them there where their mobility was the most limited.
