Just like the old saying, or not so old, it's 5:00 somewhere....
Weather is always variable. I find it rather amusing that a slight deviation is catastrophic.

AgWeek must have been short of copy: Same could be said here in Oz most years. I'll make an entry in my calendar to check the outcomes later in the year. Well, according to the AGW folks, Aussie weather has been tranquil and perfect for decades/centuries until you folks started worrying about being warm or cold. Or driving to get food etc. Then of course, everything has gone downhill since then. So, this talk of dryness HAS to be caused by all that CO2 you folks are emitting..........right? 'Fraid so ..... it would seem. I hear we're the most urbanised country on Earth so it follows, all those "carbon" emissions. Reminder, Australia's variable rainfall: Australia's variable rainfall

The nut jobs keep telling us how bad warmth is. The whole world seems to be having bumper crops. Now The Black Sea area is taking local businesses from Aussie. US futures are in the crapper. NZ has so much milk the dairy industry is in free fall.
Tell me again. How is this warmer world bad unless one is a farmer. To us it is becoming terrible. Every Tom thingy and Harry is buried in food.

But, but, arctic ice, and polar bears and flooded cities and we've had to invent new words like "drought" and "flood" to account for this weather phenomena we've never seen in history, and , and El Nino! And guns, because of all the crop failures---oh, wait. You say we're awash in food? Denier!! Heretic!! To the re-education camps you go, Mr. Sig!!

Putin has just bulldozed a mountain of EU ag products into a pit despite the poor starving. A new paper says "Researchers say extreme weather events that impact food production could be happening in seven years out of ten by the end of this century". www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-33910552

Ratty: Global wheat supplies for 2015/16 are raised 2.2 m illion tons primarily on increased production in the FSU and Turkey. A 2.4-million-ton reduction in global beginning stocks partially offsets the production increase; EU accounts fo r over 60 percent of the reducti on. World wheat production is projected at a record. Crop conditions in the spring wheat areas of Russia and Kazakhstan continue to be excellent. Winter wheat producti on in Russia and Ukraine is better than expected, particularly considering last autumn’s drought. A 1-million-ton reduction for Canada, due to drought conditions in the western prairi es, is partially offsetting. Argentina production was lowered 0.4 million tons to 11.1 million. www.usda.gov/oce/commodity/wasde/latest.pdf

When you examine production levels, as the earth has slightly warmed, total production of the main food stocks has increased faster than ever before.
