When you figure out what Enso is, you will be handed a PhD in something.... Enso is a deviation of ocean surface temps. The actual cause, driver, is not well understood, as the predictability of a event is like shooting craps, even today. Heck, just ask Graywolf how dependable those forecasts are!

Well that is what I said up-thread. The Sun is seen as special in the universe as the only star that has no doppler wobble due to planets orbiting it. Every other star has a wobble, that is one way they find planets around stars. The Sun is obviously very special. Didn't we establish the Sun is affected by the planets and does indeed have a wobble? I think it was Theo who brought it up. Of course But go to WUWT and mention barycenter and they will all howl you down. See Barycenter Simulator I just have a feeling that the inertial effect on the oceans as the barycenter changes the motion of the Sun leads to a lot of the 'slopping' that causes El Nino and La Nina and the associated atmospheric effects. According to some papers, earthquakes and volcanism are also affected. The activity of the Sun the so called dynamos could be driven by the center of rotation changing and moving retrograde or prograde with the sun's rotation on its axis. I think much of it forms the basis for Theo's work. However, for some reason this type of research is fine on Tallbloke's talkshop but can get you barred from WUWT where they disparagingly call it astrology. (Note: Astronomy: Naming stars. Astrology: The scientific study of stars )

And the NOAA site where AMO data reside still does not mention solar cycles as a possible driver of oceanic temperature, which is distributed by other factors it mentions. Under most common questions, we get this ... If the AMO (in part) affects hurricanes - what drives the AMO? Models of the ocean and atmosphere that interact with each other indicate that the AMO cycle involves changes in the south-to-north circulation and overturning of water and heat in the Atlantic Ocean. This is the same circulation that we think weakens during ice ages, but in the case of the AMO the changes in circulation are much more subtle than those of the ice ages. The warm Gulf Stream current off the east coast of the United States is part of the Atlantic overturning circulation. When the overturning circulation decreases, the North Atlantic temperatures become cooler. They do admit that it is probably a natural climate oscillation. Meanwhile, the tropical Atlantic Ocean (20N-20S) just below the surface (100-300m) continues its longer-term temperature decline. OMG. Fit a curve to that puppy Dr. Mann. I know. I know. It's gonna turn back up any day now. Odds betting folk?

[ Snip ] Try again. I changed the share mode. Let me know. I just changed to dropbox. Still no go .... I have Dropbox installed on the hard drive and I get a context menu entry offering to create a link. The link looks like this: "https:// www.dropbox.com/s/sb6i6fisbxuoxdu/ReserveWildLife.JPG?dl=0" and I have to change to www to dl **. https:// dl.dropbox.com/s/sb6i6fisbxuoxdu/ReserveWildLife.JPG?dl=0" ** thanks again Blue PS: I'm operating with BBCode, not Preview.

OK. Now I changed the share mode of the directory. Can you see them now? No, same error. On dropbox - The folder is set to - Anyone with the link can view this folder
All files within the folder are individually set to the same. Now I copy link address instead of image address & paste into insert image ... and I get a little icon on the page. If I copy image address while image is open in dropbox and paste into insert image, the image displays on my screen. But you say you can't see it.

Mo’boy- you must: 1) copy link in Dropbox 2) paste link into the “insert image” icon on the forum toolbar. Be sure to delete the “http:\\” autofill before you paste the link!!! Now 3) change the “www” at the beginning of the link to “dl” This should work! I hope my directions are clear.

What I do is this .. Here is the raw dropbox link from my 'public' folder: www.dropbox.com/s/nhai0fmueel8ng3/Branco_Cartoon.png?dl=0I now click on the picture insertion icon in the tool bar above this window (third in from internet link) and then paste the dropbox link into the top space in the window. I then go to the left end of the link I have just pasted and alter the "https://www" to be "DL" obviously without the quotes. The one caution is that some browsers and ad blockers seem to have problems with inserted graphics I am using 'Pale Moon' at the moment
