Next year, there will be more ice, globally. I predict it.

So GW you have identified a new massive negative feedback.
Imagine a region the size of the arctic well below freezing open ocean water as you describe with continuous nights releasing astounding quantities of energy. This may well be the big one and at the same time pouring massive amounts of snow and ice on Greenland and further again buffering the sea level rise.
this could be the big one. The one issue I can see is how would the region remain unfrozen, small detail. Invoke ocean currents hidden heat etc.

Excess heat in the Arctic with its associated higher humidity surely has to come largely from the south land ... accompanied by that great sucking sound over the N Atlantic Freeway like we've seen over the last 2-3 years.

My friend, who was head of Atmospheric Science at UND, gave a talk to a bunch of coverall farmers about this very subject. He wasn't worried about us cooking, he was concerned about us freezing. I know GW is concerned about LW radiation levels in the Arctic. Dr Osborne was concerned about the draft from the open door in the barn. His idea, which he showed via ocean current direction, was tropical warmth would flow to the Arctic and be gone. I still think he had a very valid point.

Whatever happened to Thermostat? Last on line 12 Aug 2013 .... I'd guess the never ending extreme climate events all proved too much and he's currently posting on alarmist sites warning of the folly of Denial...... Nothing worse than one so reformed...... But then he was last seen on the glorious 12th and a lot of Pheasants around here are missing relatives on that day???
