But the government will have done 'the right thing' wrt saving the planet .... and I understand the sacrifices we are making in their name. Really. I do.

Back on topic (well, the now Aussie part): It's Australia Day here today, 26th January, celebrating the arrival of Captain Arthur Phillip, some soldiers and some convicts to start what we have here today.
Some local aborigines refer to it as Invasion Day.
