" Record heat blackouts: Tens of thousands without power across South Australia and Victoria
Tens of thousands were last night sweltering through a blackout on one of the hottest days in history after power was cut across large areas of South Australia and Victoria. There were 76 outages across Adelaide, affecting more than 28,000 customers during the hottest day in the city’s history. In Victoria, about 5800 properties were without power on an “oppressive” night of hot and humid weather."wattsupwiththat.com/2019/01/25/green-electricity-grid-collapses-during-aussie-heatwave/

Why do North African migrants treck across Europe to try to get to UK often risking their lives? ?
Vikings raided abroad across angry seas for less.

If true Germany's industry will start relocating to places with reliable baseload power, such as China or India (TATA Industries has a thirst for EU car companies). This will then be followed by the implosion of the EU. Virtue signalling and heavy industries are not good companions.

One wonders how German pragmatists believe they will do that without sucking on the end of a long Russian straw. One ship load at a time of US LNG likely won't cut it.

Do you suppose that this is what happens to lemmings right before the end?

A beat-up. Didn't happen on Australia Day (Saturday) just passed. Probably footage from one of the many violent demonstrations that the capital of the Union of Soviet Socialist Victoria, Melbourne, seems to attract. LATER: Found this .... I may have been wrong. Still no lynching. A far-right agitator is escorted away after an altercation, holding the Australian flag, which, in recent times, has become a symbol of white nationalism. ALI MC/AL JAZEERA

As you may or may not know - the same rule has applied for some time in the USA, indeed Green Card holders can be deported if they become dependent on welfare.

Have not seen the statistics on how often the deportation option is enforced. Green card holders (~13 million 2010 stat) probably had "something" going for them in order to acquire it, while the undocumented tend to live as inconspicuously as possible. As the liberal democracies of Europe begin to take a harder line on their non-citizens, they become less of an argument that the American Left can point to for support. Expect France to start moving along these lines?
