We were on the dry side of Alberto so unfortunately we did not even get some much needed rain. And according to Joe Bastardi over at weatherbell.com it may be a suppressed tropical season so we may not get much in the way of rain from the tropics this year in my neck of the woods. But after getting 51.5 inches last year during Harvey I will not complain...
Mr. Glenn, I'm seeing several models that bring a weak system from the Gulf into your area late next week. Keep fingers crossed that it is low wind, and brings only a couple of inches of rain your way.

spaceweather.comApologies, I can't seem to isolate the article concerned so this will rotate down the news feed. However, Martin Popek, a prolific photographer of sprites, has had a very busy weekend. Essentially he captured in 2 nights the same quantity of images as would usually take him a whole season!! I'd been watching the lightning web page which routinely read the strikes as over 400/min, which is quite alot... Martin's capture rate also gives weight to the sense of magnitude of the activity that has occurred this weekend. Possibly as the jetstream returns from it's northern holiday we'll see a more normal level of activity...

Well, Mr. Glenn, three days late but still better than never! Hope you get all the rain you need, but not so much the western Reservoirs and the bayous flood again.

We received a few inches of much needed rain from this system and hopefully a few more when it all said and done. We were entering a drought so the rain was welcomed. No widespread flooding is expected. Just much needed heavy rains...
