Need an Astro view/analysis. I'm waiting for my early, long Spring. Ditto! Yet still the rains keep coming here in the UK (thanks partly to the Polar Night Jet's power/strength a.t.m?) We await the 'final warming' and how that goes, it could either 'Go out like a Lamb' seeing as it's been 'coming in like a lion' most all of winter!!! When was the last winter we saw the P.N.J. acting in such an orderly way? Just an observation but the Antipodean version ended on a rare SSW leading to the conditions that primed Oz for its burn? Will north follow south and give us a warm entry into Spring/summer and dry out the fields for the Farmers (here in the UK) currently blighted by flood? The PNJ's 'orderly manner' all winter has mainly kept the Arctic firmly locked in the Arctic meaning many places have had a glimpse of 'where' their winter temps would sit if they weren't being intermittently hammered by 'Polar Plunges' as the PNJ throws weird shapes into the lower Lats. Plenty of Winter Max's surpassed this Winter as a result (incl Florida's 90f the other day?). We are also seeing the Great Lakes with low ice due to the lack, this year, of the PNJ placing a 'lobe' over NE Canada/USA.... no fat Lady yet so the potential for big 'Lake Effect Snow' should the Lakes see a late cold plunge due to the expanses of open water in the Lakes?

Indeed, I have been mowing all through the 'winter' and now we have fall. Leaves stay on the trees until the new growth starts and it has in Florida.
So we may get Astro's long spring - not so sure about the other CONUS states.

Undoubtedly Europe will make an appearance. Hope you get that glorious spring. I may have to move to the winter-long spring of Florida, followed by a summer retreat back north.

It was forecast during SSW that it would lead to hot/dry conditions in Aus for at least a few weeks...
Cant remember the source, it may be further back on this thread.

The continent was certainly very dry but ..... it is often that way and we were in a loooong drought. Antarctica's "Sudden Stratospheric Warming" Has Started Impacting AustraliaDespite the above article, linking Aussie dryness to SH SSW is drawing a long bow, methinks, a prediction with a high percentage chance of success. Of course, I could be wrong ......

I think there is a fresh NH SSW. earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/isobaric/10hPa/overlay=temp/orthographic=-100.98,70.97,579/loc=56.316,76.922 In the SH we had one at a similar time in the season it slowed the Spring quite markedly I think Australia and NZ both had snow in the high country till the longest day. Europe and Canada are a lot closer to the poles than any of us in the SH, this could hit season length in NH.

Working on a theory high pressure in trop is most likely to form under the sinking, compressed and therefore warmer strat, this set up looks very interesting for Europe 🤞🏻🤞🏻

GFS gives us this, its ok, not really cold but is a cold anomaly.
Out of range of ECM so cant get agreement.
