Does such a day exist? If Punxatawny Phil can forecast the terrestrial weather for the next 6 weeks, what critter could possibly predict the solar weather for the next 6 months (or other time-based unit of your choice)? And what title should we give to the solar equivalent of groundhog day? I was looking at the return of the Orange, which had no change in appearance since its debut last summer. The fact that no spots, mold or other blemishes have formed over several months may be a bad omen for growth of cycle 24. Does this mean 6 more months of "solar winter"?
