In this day and age, nobody believes in Santa Claus or that smoking is somehow healthy ... so why do people still believe in Climate Change? Every one of the major tenets violates physics ... yet that doesn't seem to matter apparently.
What's the draw? Is is like professional wrestling ... where you know it's fake but it helps take your mind off reality?
Just curious.

Never be drawn into a discussion with anyone that uses language like "Do you believe in climate" they do not realize the stupidity of their imprecise language. Even the more educated ones "do you believe in climate change" don't appear to realize as Sig says that climate is always changing - but a short term warm period of 20 years is not a 'change in climate' it is a change in the weather as a the chaotic weather patterns move around the Earth. IF the pattern stabilizes for a longer time then it can be said that the climate in the areas affected has changed or has entered one of the repeated periods - such as California or Australia in drought is a regular multi year event it is nothing to blame the god CO2 about and not a change in climate as both regions have droughts sometimes decades long on a repetitive basis.

Climate is not static. Never has been, never will be. Can you be precise about what Climate is? Otherwise I have to go with what the MANUAL reads: Climate: proper noun The heroine of the Global Warming mythology, Climate is the Democratic People's Goddess. Born out of the Scientific Consensus, She oversees the central planning and administration of all weather, ecosystems, and local climates across the globe, as well as all interactions thereof. Climate is responsible for the care and well-being of all life on earth. In other faiths She is called Mother Nature.
Note: Climate, by her nature, never changes but she is believed to be constantly changing, thus forming the grand mystery of the Global Warming faith. This is a core tenet of Settled Science. Is this accurate or inaccurate? If inaccurate, how so?

So I'll ask you, what is Climate? ... as in the singular? As far as I am aware there are millions of climates on earth. When the word "climate" (singular) is used it needs to be referring to some specific local conditions bounded by a time frame. But when I see the word referenced as singular, global and open-ended, then it has to be religious myth, i.e. Climate. The Global Warming Mythology Reference Manual

That's why I said AGW, not "climate change"... The correct answer, IBDaMann, is that when it is hot, it is climate, and when it is cold, it is weather. The greenies keep telling us that we don't know the difference, but fortunately they do.

You used the "her", in reference to climate. IF you are married, there is no need for me to explain. IF you are NOT married, you will never understand change that occurs with NO known reason. I am married to the same beautiful woman, my first wife, for almost a quarter of a century. I hope she never changes. I just want to know if this is accurate or inaccurate? If inaccurate, how so? (a bit more explicit). Climate: proper noun The heroine of the Global Warming mythology, Climate is the Democratic People's Goddess. The greenies keep telling us that we don't know the difference, but fortunately they do. Walnut, I am with you. From the MANUAL: Weather Trend: noun The belief among Climate Scientists that since Climate has assumed the role of Chief Central Planner and Administrator for all weather on earth that weather is no longer a random event and can therefore have trends. Otherwise there can be no trends in weather because weather is a series of random events, and being random precludes any causal relationships required for trends. This belief falls under Settled Science. The Data: proper noun According to Global Warming mythology, The Data is the rumored proof of Global Warming, the mere mention of which has the magical superpower to end all debate on questions of Global Warming faith. Note: Often Climate Scientists fabricate data and claim that it comes from The Data. As long as the fabricated/cooked/tweaked/modified/fudged/altered/fiddled data support the truth of Climate Science then it is the Climate Scientists' duty to present that data. This duty is analogous to Taqiya in Islam.

The NEW literature is working the presses overtime to explain how CO2 drives any change. The devout masses have already discarded global warming. It is now global "Weirding". www.imdb.com/title/tt0090305/ Weird Science - Two high school nerds attempt to create the perfect woman, but she turns out to be more than that. Meet the New Climate Goddess. She can do anything. One day ya freeze. One day ya burn. Either way ya end up in an urn.
