Ive no idea as to the thoughts on this here, however this ties in with Svensmark cosmic rays, seismic activity etc.
The link is the GEC and solar wind predominantly.
As per my jetstream post, so the idea goes there is a direct atmospheric influence.
So, as a first shot across the bows.....solar wind v dorian wind speed.
This chap forecast Dorian would amp up days before when pretty much everyone else expected not much to happen, so my interest is peaked and without becoming a devout follower just yet....thought this worth watching....

It should be possible to plot solar activity (or some proxy for it like Ap) and Accumulated Cyclone Energy (ACE) I would have thought that if the hypothesis was valid there would be some correlation of some sort.

Suspicious Observers have been using solar activity effects on the global electric circuit as a predictive indicator for earth tectonic events and storms for some time. The settled science is pink with envy (and dogmas of a lower order).

So all future spamming from me on this subject is entirely your fault Missouri!!

Update: NWS now reports more strikes than earlier reported. Report now is there were an average of 440 lighting strikes every hour or about 7 to 8 every minute. There apparently are aliens on the local city council and the Mother Ship is calling them home? Or ...
