HEY SIG. Do you have any personal experience with Clethodim? Or something similar? It is supposed to be a grass-specific herbicide that's labeled for use on dry bulb onion, garlic, and shallot. I have thousands of some early varieties of onion, hardneck garlic and some leeks that had gone wild around the old farm house. I spread them round the apple trees from bulbils and they have gone wild there as well. Still trying to figure out what varieties they are. Anyway, I want to kill out the fescue and native grasses that are taking over the tree rows ... leaving the bulbs unaffected. Any ideas? www.motherearthnews.com/organic-gardening/heirloom-onion-varieties-zewz1308zpit

This isn't the time of year to use Clethodim on grass. It needs to be actively growing, IIRC. I use it on alfalfa in summer for grass. Have you read the label, or have access to label? If not, I probably have a jug nearby to answer questions.

Just wanted something to hopefully kill the grasses to the roots while sparing the bulbs, the bees and other living things. Both fescue and native grasses are very aggressive. If my back holds out, I just use neam oil on the fruit trees.

Is David getting his stats right here? Looking somewhat bleak for consumers ... but for farmers?

I was perusing grain prices and ran across this. Unique as it includes solsr cycles. I looked them up: cycles.org/ Some might find this interesting. Haven't waded through the details yet ... but will.
