Prediction: major (CAT 3 or greater) hurricane will strike the US two days either side of September 2, 2020. Will that be just after the Yellowstone caldera eruption?

It looks like the 'everlasting drought' in Texas may be a little dampened.

This one is for you GLenn... After a long dry spell we just received several inches of rain from a weak tropical wave. The next one looks to be in the same track is roughly centered between Cuba and Florida and has the potential to have a much bigger impact. And way, way out there 1/2 way between Africa and the Caribbean is what looks to be a bonafide threat for the first major Hurricane of the season. It's already on track to be one of the busiest seasons on record. Developing Nina and warmer than average SST's over most of the development regions is a bad, bad sign. I still don't have the lower 4' of lower drywall replaced in my garage yet from Harvey. It's on the list but I'm thinking it may have to wait until November.

I'm with you, Mr. Glenn. I shut down my New Orleans FQ apartment and moved all the furniture to a storage place out of the reach of tropical storms. If my coast house gets destroyed this summer, I'll at least have stuff available to furnish an apartment somewhere until we can rebuild!.
