If we sleep in democracy, we will wake up in dictatorship. You've been warned !! Roger that, Rat man. I have been sending emails and making calls to senators and reps on the matters. I strapped it on for the governor this morning after getting a survey call yesterday. Gave him a very diplomatic but frank message that although I support him, he needs to straighten things out on a number of matters which I clearly defined and documented. I encourage all to do the same. Emails and calls are easy, and they make a difference. Get on it if you are in the US, or for whatever country you are in. The time is now. I'm pissed, and it generally takes a lot to get me to this point. But I've had enough.
not-so-young-jasper
Right with you on all of that Jasper. Enough is now more than enough. The Democrats have boldly gone where even Communists have feared to tread in the past. They have been waging an ever more aggressive war for the last four years and are now pulling out all stops. If they win in November, there may not be a choice left. Pun intended.

[ Snip ] I saw a sign in front of a church today that read "Only a virtuous people can have freedom". Are we still a virtuous nation? (wait, do I get to pick the dictator?) The only way forward is to choose a benevolent dictator without ties to current US political parties or the swamp: I volunteer .... provided I get an allowance and travelling/relocation expenses. I think I would vote to take you up on it, beats what seems to be inevitably coming our way.

It is not counter productive for them to want to erase the history of the southern states attitudes which is no longer geographic but is shown in all the blue states. The "if you don't vote for me 'you ain't black'" exposed the authoritarian and we see the complete intolerance to other views in all aspects of the mob approach. We are in an undeclared war and in many places it is a shooting war too - ask law enforcement and the poor black neighborhoods.

To all my American friends ..... How's your celebration going? Just as a disconnected aside. The French when they created a colony considered that it was now part of La France, and all the colonists were represented as if French citizens in France itself. Had the UK done that first of course the house of commons would have been too small for all the representatives but the main colonial gripe about no taxation without representation would have ceased to be the case. UK would have effectively been a fully democratic United Nations. It didn't happen because the 'right honourable member for Cheapside' and others would see their power be diluted by the vote of the 'right honorable member for Podunk'. The world could have been a lot different.

Thoughts on the 5th of July. 1. In 10 years the USA will look very different than it does today. 2. Most people won't like how it looks, or is governed but they won't understand the "Why"? 3. I used to think we could fix our National Debt. That time has now passed us by.
