How do you take the cold? Cold weather tolerance is quickly lost went wintering down here Sigurdur. Spend enough time in Alabama this winter and you won’t be able to warm up when next October rolls around in ND.

I agree entirely people adapt rapidly to a warmer climate, very especially with AC.

I don't know if it is the solar minimum, a trend or just one of those things. But it has been a long, long time since we have seen a cold front this strong clear the Texas coast in September. Forecast is for lows in the 50's and north winds to almost gale force. A throwback front to the 1970's for sure.

It has been unusually cool here for the past few days, one morning 8.5C, cool days too but about to change.

The same front has just gone through here rather noisily and wet although 'cold' is a relative term currently 83F and 87% humidity normal Florida weather. However, it may mean we have seen the last hurricane.

October has come in here with temps 6-9 F below normal. We don't normally see mean daily temps in the low 50s until late October. Last year we were getting colder than normal by mid-October. This year may be picking up the pace.

Is this because ENSO and IOD are linked, precipitation shifts from one side of Indian ocean to other as ENSO changes state.
