That looks like an antique musket MoBoy have you had it valued? Cousin William (many generations removed) didn't leave it to me. Faces tell many tales. William Franklin Breedlove (left) and his brother Charles served in the 37th Regiment Virginia infantry assigned to Stonewall Jackson's Corp. I believe this photo was taken after the war as he does not look like a man in his 20s. Also, the barrel band of his Springfield appears to be missing. The unreconstructed rebel. His brother was captured at Gettysburg and dissappears from the records. William was shot in the thigh at Spotsylvania Courthouse (1864) and furloughed for the rest of the war. A distant cousin of his (on right), John Henry Breedlove, was a teamster with the 23rd Regiment North Carolina infantry and surrendered with the Army at Appomattox Courthouse. He lost many brothers and cousins in the war. Those Springfields were considered state of the art, war winning weapons and very expensive at the time. The idea was that a soldier needed to feel 100% confident in his rifle to do his best work. The troops did not have full confidence in the first generation M16's in Vietnam. Those guns didn't go bang every time they pulled the trigger.

They say that the best riflemen could get off three rounds per minute. Fouling was a serious problem after a long fight. Primer caps could fail as well. Many Southern units were armed with smooth bores at the start of the war ... but rearmed themselves from the battlefield during the first months of the war.

"Bill O’Reilly: ‘INSANE’ how badly Kamala & Biden handled border crisis
Vice President Kamala Harris — tasked by President Biden to handle the current border crisis — is currently on, what Bill O'Reilly calls, 'the befuddlement tour.' So not only has Joe Biden ruined the border situation beyond repair, O'Reilly explains, he's now also chosen somebody who seemingly is incapable of solving problems to fix the problem. O'Reilly says it's 'INSANE' how badly they've handled this situation and that it's time for Americans to take a stand, show the government some backlash, and finally say 'enough!'"www.glennbeck.com/radio/bill-oreilly-insane-how-badly-kamala-biden-handled-border-crisis?utm_source=glenn-dailyPMThe problem with Bill's proposal is that GOP have proven that 'actions' are not what they do. They will do Lindsey Graham interviews to Laurah Ingraham or Hannity promising fireworks tomorrow/next weeks committee meeting - that never seem to happen. So they can talk a good talk but never actually achieve any action. Meanwhile the Democrats have learned from the first 2 years of Trump that if they want anything they have to move fast. Which is why the empty suit was signing so many executive orders immediately he got to the 'Oval Office'. As both Glen and Bill have said and Hannity is saying too - the democrat aim is to steamroller everything through to generate a ' Faites accompli' The ONLY thing that can stop them is the States exerting their rights under The Constitution, these rights the enumerated powers are what the Federal Congress want to remove with HR-1 et seq, it is not clear if the US Congress can alter the Constitution by legislation- perhaps that is why the Democrats want to 'pack the supreme court'. [img src="DL.dropbox.Enumerated Powers.jpg" alt=" ![This should be a table of enumerated powers from The Constitution]() "] There is no doubt that the Democrats are going to try to usurp The Constitution of the United States. This is the reason for packing the SCOTUS. ("a really bonehead idea.": Joe Biden) The only reason that would make it NOT a bonehead idea is if the democrats could achieve what they wanted in less than a year. I believe that this is their aim and the normal laid back next committee meeting in a month approach will suddenly be replaced with midnight sessions and urgency. All reporting of Congress/Senate will be desultory even if the subject matter would normally merit Front Page headlines - it will be dealt with by all the media and 'big tech' as less interesting than Hunter's lap top. The first 'We the People' will hear of what has happened is after it has been set in legislative concrete. We will then need to depend on members like Waltz, Crenshaw, and, Nunes and on Senators like Cotton, Graham, and, Scott, to continue putting their heads above the parapet. As with the original fight for independence, this one will also require individuals to put themselves at risk. Although, more probably due to total electronic cancellation rather than a musket ball in the head.

Less than a third of voters agree with President Joe Biden’s recent claim that global warming is America’s “the greatest threat,” and few are willing to pay more taxes to fight such a threat.

Why should they? China seems to have things under control. We're talking Dems here. China is their ally, not Taiwan.

Why should they? China seems to have things under control. We're talking Dems here. China is their ally, not Taiwan. That might prove embarrasing in the not too distant future. The administration and the G7 are making public, tougher-than-usual verbal AND paper statements aimed at China. China is responding with aggressive words and "some" actions. What would the US/G7 do if the CCP actually invaded Taiwan?

Would they now have rights to self-determination? In the case of Puerto Rico ... they can just go any old time.
