I'm probably going to curse myself by saying this but the weather down here has been quite bearable. A cooler May than average for sure. But the month is not over yet either. Indeed looks like TD1 is going to ensure that you have no drought :-) Houston - Lake Charles continue to be a 'bulls eye' for the tropical systems.

Who says weather doesn't have a memory? At least, short to medium-term weather patterns seem to get "stuck", Continuing wet and cooler than normal here. Seems same as SE US generally. Actually, climate might be termed as longer-term stuck weather patterns. Any variation from these unleash the shrill crys of the Chicken Little hallaluya chorus. A gaggle of urbanized turkeys, mouths open, staring at the rainy skies until they drown.

When did they bloom in your Prefecture?

When did they bloom in your Prefecture? My Prefect tells me that information is classified. But since we really don't have cherry trees in these parts, my Prefect is full of it. My peach trees bloomed about the first week of April. It stayed warm enough not to freeze them,

OK how is this a proof of anything other than in the LIA when it was colder they flowered later than the middle age warm period but now with lights and UHI it is is even earlier. Are there trees unimpacted by UHI or lights also.
otherwise its cherry picking!

It is 53 F today ... rare for the last week of May. In the last pre-cycle Nina of 2011 the low was 51 ... while 2015 and 2016 came in at 54 and 55. Before that you need to go back to 1945 and before to find similar temps in the last of May.

Which is why nobody in the 'Climate Science' alarmists is interested in the Nipponese cherry blossoms - had things gone the other way then perhaps cherry blossoms would be quoted everywhere.....

I had a sweater AND a coat (don't laugh Sig). Yesterday my fragrent French lilacs were full of blooms just starting to pop. Today they are brown and dead. Touchy little buggers. The French are like that.

You'll never get out of Paris vertical.

You'll never get out of Paris vertical. Not going. A smart man once said, " Going to war with without the French is like going hunting without your guitar."

You'll never get out of Paris vertical. I always tried to avoid staying in Paris. I have no idea what the attraction is - it is full of French (and now African/Libyan camp sites in every median)
