I think the thing to do is to start a “new” forum on pro boards that is actively maintained by 1 or 2 here now. The new forum could quote old forum threads and the old forum could direct anyone to the new forum with an “Invitation” thread that could be kept as the top post by no longer posting in old forum threads. Kevin moved on when he dropped the forum from the Solarham website. We’re deplorable orphans. Ideas? Volunteers? From amongst the web-design gifted? Time to become Solar Cycle 25? It makes sense to start a new forum called SolarCycle25 and I have looked at creating it on Freeforums at Proboards, it appears to be quite easy to set up from what they say however I have no interest in actually doing it so will leave it to any experts here.

Code called me today with an idea of setting up our own site, not hosted by Proboards. He has friends that are whizzes at doing so.
The response, which can be read by clicking on the support link seem to be unless we can get Kevin involved, nothing will happen.

Birder, I second the idea of starting a new forum on Proboards. Proboards is free (with ads) and the posters here are familiar with it. It is quite easy to set up a basic board and it doesn't require an expert. I have no interest in doing it given what I'm already committed to.

Seems that Kevin was last online May 10, 2021 So it appears he is not totally inactive as per the following discussion. support.proboards.com/thread/667639/switching-owner-inactive-forumThe original owner's account will always be there: it's /user/1 (username: admin) and the forum's existence is tied into the account's existence. If the account is deleted, so is the forum. I'd definitely check back for a PB admin's response during business hours (M-F, 9am - 5pm Pacific / -8GMT) but the general policy is that the original owner either needs to consent to the ownership transfer, or there needs to be demonstrable proof that the owner is deceased or otherwise completely 100% inactive in order for PB to step in to make a determination on what should be done to preserve the forum. My recommendation would be to check to see if there's any contact info for the original creator (the URL should be: utau-synth.boards.net/user/1) and reach out that way. The last login date should also be there (and if you're a staff member in a group able to see hidden / invisible users, you should see the most updated login; otherwise there's a chance that there might be something more recent that you're not able to see). Good luck! Hopefully the PB admins can shed more light on things tomorrow (:

I'll post his reply if I receive one.
