With all the recent news about the maritime shipping industry, I find this to be a very relaxing and informative screensaver: webcams.pancanal.com/common/photo/webcam-hd-miraflores.htmlHitting F11 once in Windows IE7 makes it a full-screen display, doing that again returns it to the normal perspective. Bulkers, tankers, container ships, sailboats, tugboats, cruise and party ships, even the occasional submarine, all going through the canal. Not so many pirates, though.

Cool image.
I seen in the news that there is a Reality TV crew about to get the go ahead to board a US navy vessel in the Indian Ocean off Somalia to film what is going on.
That would be something to see.

Kevin,
The images are refreshed, although at different intervals depending on the time of day. Daytimes are several minutes apart, at night the interval drops to 30 seconds or so. It's possible to watch ships going all the way through.
The canal has other webcams, but not as nice as this HD one on the Pacific end.
