Just finished reading the memo. It is interesting, but strikes me as more of a "budget" memo than a repudiation of the IPCC, et al. What I see happening with this is simply a few years delay while the EPA mans up to do their own homework. This is a good thing. It would appear that legislation to impose carbon taxes, etc. has or may be put on hold for quite some time. Pigeonholing is often more effective than confrontation in bureaucracies.

The ill advised move of the EPA to list CO2 as a pollutant is still very much a concern. If there is anything to history it is much harder to get this totally unscientific , political body to recant on their earlier statements. The Greens have been wanting this ruling for a long time and never doubt they have put into motion their socialist plans in motion. They are interested in total control of energy, and it is clear a strong control over what we do in our private lives as well. I fear it will come to a point where we will have to defy the federal government on these points. We may very well have to say "NO" to some of their odious attempts to take freedoms from us. The current plan to tax us based on our mileage is just a part of it. The transparency of their scientific position, very clearly false, and their course of alarmism may perhaps not be enough to overthrow their plans. Now that appears both parties are part of this fraud on the citizens, it may very well take somekind of a rebellion to stop their nonsense . When pols in the past have exceeded their purposes we have always had the other party to oppose them, but in general, they have all been drinking the cool-aid, thanks to their love of power. What then is left if they try to impose a harmful policy to deal with a make belive problem?

Since we pay taxes on each gallon of over-the-road fuel we purchase, we have always been taxed based on mileage.
