" New German Study Shocks Electric Cars: “Considerably” Worse For Climate Than Diesel Cars, Up To 25% More CO2!
According to a new German study, electric cars have “significantly higher CO2 emissions than diesel cars”, and especially the Tesla Model 3 “performs particularly poorly” as it emits over 150 grams of CO2 for each kilometer it travels! Up to 28% more CO2! According to a study led by Christoph Buchal of the University of Cologne released by the Ifo Institute in Munich, when one takes into account Germany’s current energy mix — where the share of coal and gas still remains considerable — and the amount of energy used for electric car battery production, CO2 emissions by electric cars are higher than comparable diesel powered cars." notrickszone.com/2019/04/19/new-german-study-shocks-electric-cars-considerably-worse-for-climate-than-diesel-cars-up-to-25-more-co2/

Kohlemotoren, Windmotoren und Dieselmotoren: Was zeigt die CO2 -Bilanz? ..... which appears to be the research behind the NoTricks article.

I already ran it through Google translation. It says that Trump colluded with Russia.

Surprisingly, this is from Australia's left-wing ABC. The sooner we realise that fossil fuels are cheaper than wind or solar - and by a large margin - the better off we will be. Renewable energy investment looks to be going from boom to bust as prices collapseHaving burst out of an investment black hole at warp speed, the renewable energy sector's massive building boom looks likely to hit an uncompromising wall.
Key points: . Long-term power purchasing agreements for large-scale renewable generators have fallen 30 per cent in the past five years . The AEMO has slashed the prices paid to many more remote renewable generators . A wave of new projects, equivalent to two Hazelwood plants, will start in the next two years and cause a large oversupply imbalance
The reckoning is likely to be sooner rather later, as a nasty confluence of factors keeps mounting up.
Long-term contract prices are tumbling, and the market operator has effectively slashed the value of projects operating on the periphery of the network.
On top of that, rooftop solar's rapid uptake is competing directly with utility-scale solar, and coal is still a cheap form of power.
All of this has developers and investors scrambling to see if their numbers still stack up. Many don't.That cannot be true; I keep hearing that renewables are much cheaper than coal.

"In summary, caution is advised when integrating increasingly larger amounts of wind and solar generation without considering their IAV."
In other words, wind and solar sources are unreliable, and so cost more than ya think.

"In summary, caution is advised when integrating increasingly larger amounts of wind and solar generation without considering their IAV." In other words, wind and solar sources are unreliable, and so cost more than ya think. More than that - a base load generation plant needs to be successfully running to provide the AC frequency for the 'renewables' to synchronize with. Once the renewable supply is more than around ~15% of overall supply this apparently starts to become problematic. The greens break out in hives and severe derangement syndrome whenever nuclear is mentioned but Liquid salt/pebble bed thorium reactors are the way to go; if not those then small modular standard fission reactors such as the ship borne reactors. Effectively unlimited power but of course the greens really want the demise of western civilization so they cannot accept nuclear power.

yes and yes... I can't fathom how their brains work.
