Selling fear always has unintended consequences. I wonder if Hansen or Gore etc. have consciences that can feel pangs of remorse?

Using equally silly logic, selling oil is far worse Please do show us where families are killing themselves over worries about oil. Why do you defend the indefensible?

Y'know, when a mentally disturbed person takes a life, it's usually because they were mentally disturbed, regardless of what they, or any opportunists have to say about their motive.
For example, their were some claims that the Columbine killers had been bullied by the more popular "jocks", but little to no evidence of that was uncovered. (The claim was somewhat supported by statements made by the killers during their rampage, yet they had no specific targets (i.e. people who had bullied them)). At the same time, opponents of violent video games and goth/metal music wanted to blame those, yet a more realistic view is that the video games and music were simply one outlet for their diffuse rage against society. The eventual psychiatric conclusion was that Harris was a clinical psychopath and Klebold was depressive. They believed the plan was masterminded by Harris, who they thought had a messianic-level superiority complex and hoped to illustrate his massive superiority to the world.
So, these Argentinians were crazy. I'll leave the determination of the exact kind of crazy to someone more qualified.

gfw, Inflaming the public square has costs. This family in Argentina paid a huge price for a popular obsession that literally was doing nothign to them. People who make a tragic choice due to losing a greaat deal of their money are no less tragic, but in most cases can at least point to real losses and pain. When this couple decided to kill themselves due to AGW, what were they suffering? Again: How heartless does one have to be to be an AGW partisan?
