Today I had a drive out into the country to the River Severn Valley. It was good to see the spring lambs in the fields. Crocus, Snowdrops and Pansies were in flower and the sun was shining, what could be better? I also see the Groundhog Punxsutawney Phil says spring is nigh.

I saw a lonely crow yesterday. But then I saw a group of them in Jan which was the first time in my life I have ever seen crows in Jan in this area.
And so far........surprised the crows are still alive as we are snow covered and quit cold for this time of year. Altho.....if the local meteorologist is correct.....we should have a light thaw the end of this week.
I am READY.

I did notice two pair of gray squirrels (male & female each, I assume) being rather "frisky" in the back yard today I think gestation is about 45 days, so maybe we'll get an early spring. I'm ready! Obla dee, Obla da...

Aw, Maggie... you would've had a leg up on the rest of us! It wouldn't have been that much of a stretch. I bet now you could just kick yourself! Not a bad set of legs... You know... the kind that know when Spring's comin'. Does the Met Office know about your great gams? You might step on a few toes but just put your best foot forward!

You all make me a bit jealous (or envious). As of 2/8/11, and using local heating degree days as a measure of "cool", we are about 7.7% cooler than last year and 5.5% cooler than normal. Too early to draw conclusions, however. #!@^ La Nina! On the other hand, this might just be our January Thaw. ;D

I'm guessing we will have an early spring and a hot but short summer followed by an early fall. Course the hot summer will bring news of continued AGW reports. Sigh.

The AO flipped positive recently, and the SOI lag from last June going neutral should be bringing us nice warm weather soon. However, I'm looking for a heavy snow before March end. This is for Michigan BTW.
