Apparently I am in the minority in the southern United States but "If I wanted America to fail" I would fly flags from our state capitals that are synonymous with slavery, oppression and one of the darkest periods in our history. I can't see any person of color looking at the Confederate "Stars and Bars" and feeling any different than a Jewish person would at someone flying the Nazi flag. 2coolfishing.com/ttmbforum/showthread.php?t=1522762

Glenn: I have been thinking about the picture that you posted. NO one feels a need to bring a gun into a crowded store. To do so is just plain nuts. Concealed carry. Fine with that. There is already something wrong with a person's line of thinking if they bring a gun to a public area such as a store. When we used to bring them to school, we didn't bring them into the school BUILDING. Sure, out in the parking lot if someone got a new shotgun etc we would look at it. Big diff, as I see it, to us guns/rifles etc are tools. For the rational thinking person yes, guns are tools. And I have to admit a gun can instill a feeling of confidence and security. My question is where do we carry the Second Amendment to far? I recently went to the gun range with a "prepper" neighbor of mine. It's been years since I have hunted or even fired a gun. He brought an AR-15, a 9MM handgun and a little .22 pistol. I have to admit that the AR-15 was a thrill to shoot. But I just can't think of realistic situation where anyone would need that kind of firepower? What would our founding fathers think of a weapon like this and what limits (if any) would they impose on firepower? An AR 15 is a pea shooter. 30-06 is a rifle.

I got this 1956 M1 .30-06 from the CMP, came with a new walnut stock. The stock finish was dark and dull, even too dull for GI, so I refinished it myself. Yeah I know it is light and unconventional for a military rifle. The metal itself looks almost un-issued. Probably a lend lease return from some "ally" like Turkey or Pakistan.

The weapon that the volks army should be armed with is probably this: www.basspro.com/Marlin-60-Rifle/product/10217878/Very accurate, very cheap, abundant parts. Still lethal at 400 yards. A better bet for outfitting the masses than expensive ar-15's. The semi-auto bolt mechanism seems really complex however. Trouble is, 22 ammo still scarce. Wonder why.

And, still lethal FPS at 400 yards. Dead is dead, 30-06 or .22. I wouldn't want to be hit by a 22 at 400 yards.
This is not me:

Not widely affordable I think. $150 apiece is what we will need. I'm conflicted about the plastic receivers and stuff. I dislike them, but the civilian army could have their own 3d printers and possibly mass produce their own guns and parts.

Speaking of Marlins, a thousand years ago when I was young and silly, I had a Marlin .45-70. Lots of big game here in Australia.

I am not worried about same sex marriage. Security is another issue. There is supposed to be a separation of powers. Everyone should be worried that we have a rogue Supreme Court that has no Constitutional authority to make such decisions, yet now can define what everything is by the vote of one person. There is no "fundamental right" of marriage. They have now opened the floodgates. In 12 months the country will be ripped apart. Don't think so? Let's see what happens next. The Supreme Beings also ruled on this: www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/06/25/worse-than-obamacare-housing-case-lets-feds-target-unconscious-racism/The toilet is full, now we wait for the handle to be turned to flush.

A rogue Supreme Court with no Constitutional authority to make such decisions? That's an interesting analysis. And I am going to venture a guess that you will be wrong (again) and the Country will be just fine in another 12 months. No one is going to force you to marry a gay person. No one is going to be forced into performing a gay ceremony.
As a matter of fact in 12 months no one is going to give a rat's behind about this ruling. Much ado about nothing and life will go on as it has.

As a matter of fact in 12 months no one is going to give a rat's behind about this ruling. Much ado about nothing and life will go on as it has. I would venture to say you know very little about the Constitution and the role of the 3 branches of government and pay little attention to how the Supreme Court is reshaping American society by its "decisions". While you have said over and over Obama is not the bogeyman, he has abused the office of the presidency like no other in history. There is an all out assault on religious Liberty and the freedom of association. I will bet you $1000 within 12 months there will be lawsuits to remove tax exempt status from churches and that other religious organizations such as Christian schools that refuse to perform gay weddings or hire gay employees will be attacked by the full weight of the Federal government, not to mention Christian owned businesses. And as parents refuse to send their kids to government run schools that indoctrinate them with the official government line, they too will be targeted. Gays will be given special status, particularly under this administration. Want to take the bet? Seriously, $1000. Your move. Fascism is rising rapidly in this country. For you to pretend like it isn't happening only shows you are a NPR drone and don't pay attention. You probably believe the government unemployment numbers too. BTW, how's that XL Pipeline coming along? Sure Glennkoks, only good can come out of this. Up is down and black is white.
