I learned roundabout driving in Saudi Arabia. It's all in the attitude! Line markings? We don't need no stinking line markings! I learned in Italy but I think the Italians just close their eyes and go for it. At least they drive on the “Correct” side of the road. I didn’t drive during my visits to Oz. I sat “white knuckled” in the passenger seat. I wonder what would happen if an “autonomous vehicle” experienced a “system crash” in a roundabout.😜 To date I've avoided driving in a left-sided world. So much of driving is learned instinctual ... and so many bad things can happen when a right-sided instinctual response meets a left-sided emergency moment at 120 kph. The Saudi-Japanese road warrior battle cry delivers the utterer into the hands of his destiny ... Allah Akbar Bonzai!

My first “other side” of the road experience was in Japan on a mountain road with a female driver...😮. I think that experience is what convinced me that I did not need to drive in foreign countries if they drive on the opposite side of the road never mind having the driver sitting on the other side of the car.

My first few times driving in Scotland I habitually went into roundabouts to the right. The Scots, a people who usually exhibit a well developed sense of humour, were not amused. And then there was the problem of shifting with the left hand, and always misjudging how close the right wheels were to the edge of the very narrow roads. In the end I found a nice pub and stayed there.

Get into a taxi in central Naples (Italy) and say "The airport - I'm in a hurry" Traffic lights are advisory only But you can walk across a busy road even a divided highway without looking (I learned it from the still living locals) and no one will hit you. Waiting for a pedestrian 'walking man' is a waste of time - see 'traffic lights' above.

I got stuck in a traffic jam and was amazed as they started driving on the sidewalks to jam into the “piazza”. I didn’t try it.

I'm reminded of being in Rome in a taxi several years ago when the roundabout we were entering "locked up". No cars could move because they were either blocked by cars going perpendicular to their path or by cars stopped stopped in front and there was no room to back up. Many drivers were out of their cars yelling at each other and shaking fists and saying things that I'm sure weren't pleasantries. Our driver was leaning out the window and yelling and gesturing as well.
The obvious solution to this problem would have been for some drivers in a line to back up to open up traffic again but Italian machismo was not allowing this to happen. Who would ever consider backing up? And the cars were packed so tight that there was only an inch or so space behind each car.
It took divine intervention to resolve the situation.
A priest in full dress came out of nowhere and quickly quieted the mob. After assessing the problem, the priest then walked backed a ways on one of the traffic lines and started a backup sequence. He then went to the strategic point and unlocked the jamb, thank God.

Another report suggests 1.18 million per month! Dividend or Disaster"Africa’s child population is projected to increase by 170 million between now and 2030, taking the number of the continent’s under-18s to 750 million. This is according to Generation 2030 Africa 2.0: Prioritizing investment in children to reap the demographic dividend, a new report released by UNICEF on child demographics in Africa and their implications for the continent, and the world."

weird headline, the projected winner is losing? WTF? The interesting point to note is that both of the newly elected governors are ex-Goldman Sachs. It is starting to look like that company has taken over the Democrat party.

" Report: Fusion GPS Co-Founder Met with Russian Lawyer Before and After Meeting with Trump Jr." " co-founder of Fusion GPS — the firm that produced the Trump dossier — met with a Russian lawyer just hours before she met with Donald Trump Jr. last year, then again after the meeting, according to Fox News. The revelation raises questions over Fusion GPS’s potential role in the Russian lawyer’s meeting with Trump Jr. Fusion GPS was hired two months earlier, in April 2016, by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee to look into ties between the Trump campaign and Russia."www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/11/07/report-fusion-gps-co-founder-met-with-russian-lawyer-before-and-after-meeting-with-trump-jr/So Fusion GPS tried to muddy the waters with Trump Jr. The same Fusion GPS that was being funded by DNC (aka Clintons) and Comey from the FBI. The only way this will stop is by removing university accreditation. This is a new puritanism being imposed to prevent free speech. To the 'professor' with taunch views on Hitler, I would ask if 'he' refuses to drive Volkeswagens or to drive on interstates; both of which were Hitler's ideas. See my one liner below the professor fits it perfectly.
