So you'd need to be green and wet behind the ears to fall for that growth story?

Average IQs in the western countries must surely be dropping, due to immigration, and the parasite class reproducing faster than the producing class. This article makes the problem of apparently falling IQ sound like a puzzle, and that it cannot yet be explained. www.nbcnews.com/think/opinion/iq-rates-are-dropping-many-developed-countries-doesn-t-bode-ncna1008576"'Collapse of a city that's lost control': Shocking new pictures from downtown LA capture the huge problem it faces with trash and rats amid fear of typhoid fever outbreak among LAPD

Meet the Third Jihad. The First Jihad and Caliphate ca 650-850. Really only Sunnis. The Second Jihad and Caliphate ca 1300-1700. Sunni led Ottomans. Third Jihad and Caliphate (?) ca 2000-?. Shia Sunni rivalry. It's easier to get invited in than fight your way in. Either way, the faith hasn't changed.

I think that this may be true of cities in democrat 'governed' districts. The cities I have visited recently in Republican districts don't seem to have the same problem. This seems to be borne out by the list of cities with 'skid rows' "San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Denver, Minneapolis, Chicago, Detroit, St. Louis, Memphis, Cleveland, Baltimore, Philadelphia and countless other U.S. cities.""Copper prices have fallen 6% in just the past month while zinc is down 8.5%. Copper and zinc are big components for many industrial and technology companies. People pay so much attention to copper as a barometer that traders jokingly call it Dr. Copper, as if it has a PhD in economics."AT&T have been working in this area replacing miles of copper with glass fiber. As the country moves to 4G LTE to 5G hundreds of miles of copper cable will be hitting the recycling market and that will reduce the price. The same is probably true of zinc but almost certainly not true of Lithium or cobalt as people move from zinc air batteries to LiIon batteries. Economists who make bets based on old technology are not to be trusted. I wonder if he issues his books as audio books on 8 track cartridges? CDs? DVDs? Even USB 'thumb' drives are being replaced by cloud storage. The world is changing faster than these people can write and publish a book. However, there is no shortage of pessimists to sell the doom to.... or as Ratty would say - "we'll all be 'rooned"

The Federal government should refuse to fund it. Let us see how long California will last.

I feel your pain, Blue. The Australian Senate is a mess of directly-elected senators who are more beholden to their parties than to their states. There are also single-issue senators. It was aptly described by a former prime minister as " unrepresentative swill" after they refused to pass a bill he wanted rushed thru.
