Prove it by listing some sceptic snake oil salesmen. I don't let snake oil salesman get close enough anymore to know their names...

Steve: I just had a thought. I don't read much rubbish. But the Dragon Slayers, I think they call themselves, would be a prime example of "Snake Oil Salesmen".
I started to read something put out by them, but it was so full of errors that I stopped. I think one of the pushers of this is a fellow called Tallbook or some such in the UK?

Now this I found applicable: The true-believer syndrome merits study by science. What is it that compels a person, past all reason, to believe the unbelievable. How can an otherwise sane individual become so enamored of a fantasy, an imposture, that even after it's exposed in the bright light of day he still clings to it--indeed, clings to it all the harder? --M. "Skeptical Science Syndrome" seems to be on the wan. Good thing. I hadn't looked at their page for ages, and it is still the same butchering of science going on there.
Comments seem to have diminished as well.
Funny how reality is a cure for such sickness.

I think the real reason for "the butchering of science" is that you have been shown off the premises quite a few times. I can see you have a burning desire for being recognised as a some sort of a science person, but for some reason those people just won't be taking you for one. The tragic here is that it is the others who are at fault, not yourself!

Naw Numerouno. The site is plain propaganda site. And the comments/traffic continue to decline as the scientific community recognizes that the consensus is not there.

Curiously thou you were drawn to that awful site so badly.
The blog format is history in any case as people will spend more of their time in Facebook and Twitter.
You too will recognise this when Watts and others cease to publish as a blog.

Can't say much via Twitter.
As far as facebook, it is good to look at pics of the kids, look at posts concerning Syria, but nuts and bolts? Not so hot.
Don't go to Anthony's site very often, but it does seem he is improving it.
As I said, hadn't looked at SS in some time. Was a bit surprised at how little it is visited now, and the lack of comments. Guess that goes with traffic.

maybe the crisis of CAGW is simply over and the shrill is declining. From both sides of the debate.
CAGW is largely dead AGW lives on but for Political impact only a Catastrophe will do.
there will never be a capitulation just a progressive decline in attention. Even Australia has worked it out carbon tax is a dead issue. and surprisingly little said about it anywhere in the world. thin end of wedge who next?

Nice response on SKS on the Akasofu thread at WUWT
CRS, DrPH says: September 9, 2013 at 4:47 pm I’ve never visited “Skeptical Science” before, and they list these “Most Used Climate Myths” on the left of the blog….
Climate’s changed before It’s the sun It’s not bad There is no consensus It’s cooling Models are unreliable Temp record is unreliable Animals and plants can adapt It hasn’t warmed since 1998 Antarctica is gaining ice ====== From where I’m sitting, most of them seem to be true and verifiable. What are these folks smoking?
Dang, my memory must be getting rusty! I could have sworn they had some real myths in that list at one point in time. Maybe it just seemed like that at one time!
