Other interesting luminous clouds are the 'Noctilucent' clouds similarly ice crystals but up in the stratosphere and illuminated by the Sun which is well below the horizon and

There could be that, although they have been sighted at my latitude in UK but sunset is past my bedtime (at this time of year) and being UK, the normal clouds are often in the way if I stay up late!! :-(
