It rained, it rained a lot. It has happened before, it will happen again. Yup and I imagine the plants and animals are loving it!

Sig, this one is so bad, it could wash out the test cricket match between Australia & Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Very unprecedented (and sad). Shucks Ratty, I hear that Aussie has lots of crickets as well? What do ya do? Find the best Aussie Cricket and let them play a Pakistani cricket? See which bug wins? Wouldn't take much of a field for that perhaps?

Specially these guys: Aestivating frogsWow! "Our research has shown that they depress their metabolism by up to 80%, which allows them to survive these periods on their fat alone. Moreover, we have shown that despite being immobile for many months, they do not suffer any significant muscle wastage (a significant problem affecting humans when their limbs are immobilised). We have also shown that despite being without food for extended periods, their digestive systems remains functional which allows them to feed as soon as they emerge from aestivation (again, something humans can not do if they are fasted for any length of time).."

ABC radio is breathlessly calling it a one-in-150-year event ...... I'm starting to get worried. I thought at first that Flannery must be at Ayres Rock, but then you said that you had a Test Match. If there is one thing that will bring on rain and poor light, its a test match. Talk of 5 day matches and 'silly mid-on' not to mention googlies always bemuses American cousins

Listening to the wind howl outside. Temps droping as the snow releases its heat. Will see how big the drifts are tomorrow as suppose to last through afternoon now. So far no power outage. Generator ready in case tho. Something about the wife being a lot happier in a warm house! During Blizzard Hannah in late winter of 97 I was the only farm around with power. Took my generator to a neighbor's place that was down to 33F. Lucky I had a mechanical front drive tractor on generator as some healthy drifts. Another day on the Tundra at present. You poor thing! Down here in sunny Texas our Christmas was 77F. We followed that up with an 84F on the 26th which was the second warmest December day on record! Ate Christmas dinner on the back porch in shorts and flip flops for the second year in a row. No snow No ice No sub zero temps I did have to turn on the A/C to take some of the humidity out of the air in the house.

See what you are missing not being up here Glenn? Just think, if the price of oil keeps climbing, you may end up here again! I bet you can hardly wait?
