lol! Looking at that graph it appears 1937 was almost the same temperature as 2016 if you warm it using UAH data. (within 2 tenths a degree C)

I’m really surprised National Geographic let a copy of that survive. The Ministry of Truth has to work harder on the Memory Hole.

From the reference: "Only Shi specifies that he has used “fixed relative humidity”, which means positive water feedback. The other studies do not specify humidity conditions. The author’s conclusion is that also Myhre et al. and Hansen et al. have used the constant relative humidity conditions in the atmosphere."So water vapor is a feedback to temperature increase - but it is assumed to be precisely at the correct amount to maintain the relative humidity constant despite the temperature increase? This is fundamentally important as the enthalpy of the air will increase with an increase in water vapor meaning the small forcing from CO2 could be swamped.

I wouldn't take the argument as Gospel in either camp. And it has become camps who talk over each other.
Kinda like soil Science. Lots of research to about 1920 and then grant chasing took over.

[ Snip ] Not aware of the politics there...whats the angle?? He's a jump-the-gun exponent ... I'm not commenting about the science but check out his website wrt Tim Ball's Canadian court case Vs. Michael Mann. O'Sullivan had Mann in jail months ago for not providing his hockey stick data to the court. AFAIK, nothing has yet happened. Others may know more?

When someone writes an article like this, I shudder. It is so easy to rebut the claim that CO2 is not a well-mixed (no one is saying it is perfectly mixed) gas that the warmists then use the easily refutable claim to undermine the whole of skepticism. Here's an example of someone doing that. scienceblogs.com/illconsidered/2010/10/is-co2-well-mixed/ But it's ironic that the author of the above rebuttal doesn't seem to know the role entropy plays in gas mixing. Gases of different molecular weights will mix and stay mixed over time even without convection due to entropy. It's not simply a function of the wind as he says. And there are a lot of other things he probably doesn't know about science, but he can still advance his arguments because of the easy target set up by the skeptic.

1. Earth does NOT receive enough radiation to become Venus. End of story!
