It's nice when it works. But commonly shared green land will always be quickly overgrazed and over used. No one ever practices any restraint for the common good. By the time our population gets to 400 million this will all be history I'm sure.

Known as 'The Tragedy of The Commons' en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tragedy_of_the_commonsIt is closely related to the problems with socialism when taxpayer funded resource is 'free'.

"Trump snubs May G20 plea to tackle climate 'crisis' as all other leaders sign commitment
Donald Trump snubbed an attempt by Theresa May to sign the leaders of all the world's 20 biggest economies up to an international agreement on tackling climate change. The US president refused to sign up to a G20 commitment upholding ambitious pledges that he had previously insisted would put America at a "permanent disadvantage" compared to the rest of the world. Following an informal discussion with Mr Trump on the fringes of the summit, she and the other 18 leaders eventually put their names to an agreement without him."www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2019/06/29/trump-snubs-may-g20-plea-tackle-climate-crisis-leaders-sign/

They could not pressure Trump to do something stupid. "Trump snubs May G20 plea to tackle climate 'crisis' as all other leaders sign commitment

Sig you will find this interesting in a morose or schadenfreude way.... Looking back and thinking how could things have got so out of kilter.. "Speculation is that just as Samuel Johnson observed, “when a man knows he is to be hanged in a fortnight, it concentrates his mind wonderfully,” when a reluctant witness in an IG probe knows that a prosecutor will force them to testify, it serves to focus his attention on important matters…like not being indicted."www.redstate.com/streiff/2019/07/06/cia-prepares-blame-consultant-excuse-screwing-pooch-steele-dossier/

It is probably quite difficult to find anyone white or black in the USA, whose ancestors did not own slaves. The peasantry in most of Feudal Europe was effectively owned by the 'lord of the manor' and had no real 'rights'. It was perfectly normal for the majority of the population to be 'owned' to a greater or lesser extent. Indeed, the daring part of 'The Constitution of the United States' was that " all men are created equal". This was most definitely not the case at the time The Constitution was written, which predated 'The French Revolution'.
