In the bad olden days I believe they used to call them traitors. You could find them hanging out up in public places. Reminder to go long in piano wire... Hemp was more common in our hemisphere. Often more deadly than the recreational end of that family.

Joe's Saturday Summary looks at the mechanics of what he is forecasting for the rest of December. Gotta really enjoy watching a weather geek who loves his work ... and who has been amazingly accurate ... so far. Perhaps the IPCC ought to consider giving him a contract ... but what am I thinking?

I think Joe has been too naughty to be considered.

I love Joe's detailed forecasts, but I have to admit his tweets are hard for me to follow. Mr. Naut, is Joe predicating a gradual step down to a below normal temperature regime for the Eastern US in January and February?

He is saying that it will start stepping down to a bit bl***ing frigid with end of Jan into Feb being very cold even down to the North Gulf coast.

Ah. Time to locate my water meter key in the shed then. Amazing how dramatically a PVC pipe can shatter in a freeze.

Ah. Time to locate my water meter key in the shed then. Amazing how dramatically a PVC pipe can shatter in a freeze. Indeed. And at times like these we here in Columbia MO are seriously glad that our city officials have never "caved" to any demands to lighten the burial-depth requirements in code for water lines. Given global warming and all. Three feet is required ... and is based on historical precedent. Let us hope that conditions precedent are not dethroned by conditions subsequent.
