In all my reading about climate and the effects of temperature change, the thing that stood out most for me was that when we entered the cooling phase, precipitation would climb.
Well, in my neck of the woods it sure has climbed. Historical snows and now historical rains, as well as historical cool weather day after day and month after month.
May was 5.2F cooler than historical means. In 2009, the warmest month has been 4.5F cooler than historical means.
I am ready for at least average temperatures and precip. This wet boggy stuff is getting old reallllllly fast.

The monster storm produced between 4 and 7 inches of rain in a wide area. This is now a historical storm.

What is the monster storm? Last night in eastern ND, we had a monster storm. Produced 4 tornadoes that didn't touch the ground thankfully, and a deluge of rain over a very wide area. Some of the amounts exceeded historical records for a single rainfall amount. Quit the event, and devestating for crops.

FORTUNATELY, the increased CO2 in the air in increasing crop yields overall (as much as 20-30%), especially in drought prone areas, so hopefully the rainfall damage will be compensated for by the helpful people emitting free fertilizer into the air!!

As a farmer I like free fertilizer, but I don't have time to plant an aquatic species of plant this year. Driving around this morning, the picuture is not pretty and I was fortunate to only get 4 inches of rain. Most of the area exceeded that and had up to 7 inches in 12 hours.
