I don't know about NZ, but I do know if it passes here as written, there is going to be a HUGE change of membership in the US House and Senate.
I am looking forward to July 1st to read the book as it won't be available in the US till then.

I ordered it from Australia, and it wasn't particularly expensive, even with shipping. July 1 is imminent, though.

Freedom
FREEDOM, as every schoolboy knows, Once shrieked as Kosciusko fell; On every wind, indeed, that blows I hear her yell.
She screams whenever monarchs meet, And parliaments as well, To bind the chains about her feet And toll her knell.
And when the sovereign people cast The votes they cannot spell, Upon the lung-impested blast Her clamors swell.
For all to whom the power's given To sway or to compel, Among themselves apportion heaven And give her hell.
Ambrose Bierce

Oh boy! If the Senate passes that cap and trade deal, we will be in the high clover. Every horizon will be filled with windmills. Even Hyannisport? Surely even the Kennedy's can't resist the will of the people. There will be green jobs by the gazillions. A chicken in every pot. Or some kind of bird (casualties from the wind mills). But alas, I am afraid the Senators ain't that stupid.
We need the help of all of the warmista faithful. Send your canned realclimate bullcrap to your Senators, and insist that they use their power to legislate us back into the Stone Age. Hell, we are burning up here!

After the Cap and Trade bill was narrowly passed (219-212), I heard that the Washington phone system crashed due to people trying to make their protest. Who on earth is priming Obama? The warmist Holden? A dangerous fellow in my humble opinion. In the meantime, here in NZ the sacked Salinger from Niwa has started a pressure group with a few others including the B-grade actress and highly respected climatologist Lucy Lawless. It does not appear to have gained traction. Perhaps they have chosen the wrong winter as it is freezing down here. tvnz.co.nz/politics-news/celebrities-call-key-take-climate-action-2753778The US has not cornered the market in nutters.

We do seem to have our share tho, and yes, the phone system crashed. The Senate will look at this more carefully, and I think the bill the house passed is dead in the water. IF it isn't, get ready for wide scale poverty as the cost, just in the US is between 2k and 3k per household per year. And the CBO didn't figure the number of jobs lost. Yes, it will be a net jobs loss bill. I have read from other economists that it will cause a reduction in US GDP of around 12%. The US is on shaky ground now as far as debt. This bill will push the Fed into bankruptcy.

It is 2020, and the revolution in the USA is over. Citizen's militia have taken control of the streets, and the country is getting back to rebuilding. You can only push a people so far.
The symbolic tipping of a ship load of coal into the Boston harbor on the 4th July 2019 will be seen in history as the turning point, though the emergency legislation introduced by Obama in 2015 allowing him to be President "as long as the crisis continued" was also regarded as a trigger which started the five years of protest and rebellion .....
Of course, cutting off all World Trade and disconnecting the Internet, phones and most communication with the outside World was seen as rather radical, and the rest of the World is pretty much in the dark about what is happening.
Repudiation of all foreign held treasury debt has halted trade of the US dollar, but the central committee is about to issue a new gold backed currency, and all Citizens will be issued with the same amount for a fresh start.
The Central committee has applied for extradition of Obama, Hansen et al, but the EU maintains that they will not release these perpetrators of the US collapse back to the US where they face certain death.
The US has become a Pariah nation, joining the ranks of NZ, Australia and other freedom loving nations.

In Australia, the Labor Government is proposing an Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) but it has been dubbed by some as the Employment Termination Scheme.

Don't you know that it is time for the money to totally move to the Far East again? Historically, wealth travels around the globe. At one point China was the richest country in the world, then it went west......and kept going west. WEll, now it is in the works to make sure it gets back to China. I call this the slow wind of change.
