Well like most US 'green' companies - their 'greenness' doesn't extend past gestures like leaving the Chamber of Commerce. Apple's production is in China where they don't need to worry about inconvenient EPA regulations and lower carbon footprints quite so much.

Good idea. Letting companies feel the heat from skeptics is a good thing. The way enemies of industry are able to con their way into Board rooms is a question historians should study closely, but those in industry should study even more closely. Gore is destructive, ultimately to Apple and its long term interests. Yet he weaseled his way into power there and at Google, as well.

Now that we know which side their on, tell Apple to shove it. Err... No! I like my apple kit ;D I've ripped out all the PC kit in the house...Why? Because I'd buy a fast bit of kit which ran like a dog once I'd put windoze and anti- virus on it. I even have lots of Microsoft exams!!! still hate the stuff. I also you install software on Macs and it just works with everything else and don't even suggest Linix!!! Lastly it has a very good resale value and runs a BSD Unix ;D You can be a sceptic and green (I live on a small Island and if we don't recycle we'll soon be living in our own rubbish).

How true. The first years of my life were spent in U.S. National Parks (my dad was a park administrator). We love nature and know that it needs to be preserved. However, we don't go alarmist every time a leaf falls from a tree and we certainly don't put unfounded science ahead of the needs of people.
As far as Apple goes, our marketing agency doesn't use their computers any more. We had more meltdowns with the hardware and no accountability from Apple. We can replace three PC's for what we wasted on one Mac.
It is no surprise that the company is in on the anti-chamber thing - they employ and sell to (primarily) the granola crowd so it is a marketing and culture thing for them to knee-jerk on the AGW bandwagon.
The utility companies are another story. They know AGW is bull but they are following the CnT money. For that reason, PNM and others are now off my personal portfolio.
The people whom I feel sorry for are the sheeple who believe this junk and are doing stupid things like investing their small fortunes on inaccessible mountain land "for when the floods come". Seriously, I have a friend that believes that the western U.S. is going to submerge within his lifetime.

Apple OSX is pretty well the best OS out there at the moment. Love them or hate them, i have an Imac at home but am writing this on my Hackintosh because it just runs faster and as an added bonus cost $400 instead of $1200. I am currently watching a movie on my apple tv but I also had to run a hack on this to increase the HD size from 40GB to 1TB
Don't worry about what Apple does, the real world just ignores what they try to do and stay's ahead of the curve. I can't wait for the carbon passports so I can sell my vapourware CarbonUP card reader which adds 1000 Tons of carbon to your passport for $20.
Clever people will always be one step ahead of the Marxists.

He's actually quite intelligent. I'll even say smarter than me. I find this to be true among a lot of warmists (including the very smart ones that post on this board). I honestly believe that his opinion is largely driven by ideology. For example, he still places thinning wild bird egg shells ahead of fighting malaria and saving millions of lives. Go figure how people rationalize such a position.
