There has been a shift in spirit in the US. The major source of the shift is the large cities. People have lost the ability to recognize opportunity.

There is never a reason to apologize on this board. People sharing information is DESIRABLE. Thx Sig, this is always the most civil of places (apart from 2 periods in 5 years involving specific posters 😳 😬) The reason it is civil is people who post on this forum think. That has become a rare thing anymore. Knee jerk reactions with loud proclamations are the new "normal" in society. Today's talking point seems to be that "Russia has a bounty on US solders.". Ok, I am a seasoned feller. Does this surprise ANYONE who thinks? Want to go through the list of people the US has a bounty on? ?? Doesn't make it right, what it does make is the PRESENT, and PAST reality of life.

Apologies Gridley, i in no way aim to post anything which stresses anyone out, at the same time realise much about this subject is stressful, especially those involving our way of life. I'll leave it here, only adding i see extensive, well practised distancing procedures here in Middle England. Done with consideration to others. There's always a few bad apples, true. There is never a reason to apologize on this board. People sharing information is DESIRABLE.

Sweden is doing that very successfully today. Their entomology expert readily admits that they made a mistake not protecting the elderly. That is where the bulk of their deaths are.

We plan to take advantage of the Covid19 pandemic. I am going to teach a kid how to spray, and then we are heading to Oregon with stops along the way.
Parks etc shouldn't be as full as usual.

Dr. Fauci yesterday commented on the mask thing. Yep, www.cnn.com/videos/health/2020/06/23/anthony-fauci-masks-question-vpx.cnn://www.foxnews.com/media/surgeon-general-explains-masks-public-coronavirus I think Fauci is revising history. A shortage of PPE was a factor, but the main explanation was that masks were of little or no utility in stopping the spread of the virus, and could actually be harmful because people constantly adjusted them with their hands. I don't care when people change their mind about something like this, especially if new evidence comes into play; just don't do it and then BS me that it has always been thus. To clarify, yes the narrative put forth was "masks were of little or no utility in stopping the spread of the virus" which we now know was false and untrue. It was because people like my wife, who was working directly with Covid positive patients, did not have enough equipment. It was a lie - plain and simple - to ensure PPE's went to front line workers. It was triage. It was the government deciding who was important. Now consider this story IMF says global economic collapse caused by coronavirus will be even worse than feared www.washingtonpost.com/business/2020/06/24/imf-global-economy-coronavirus/Call me paranoid but I'm going to stock up a little more on a few necessities. Buy INO stock. I did awhile ago.

I think a little more ubiquitous than just out west. but truly a salute. You may have a point, Non. PS: I do remember attending a political conference in 1967. It was held in a marquee on a sheep property near Tara on the Western Darling Downs. There was a compressor and spray gun attached to a twelve gallon drum of insect repellent. All attendee were sprayed on arrival. I blame it for all my personality defects. Finally admitting your wife has been correct all those years eh Ratty?

Sig may be seeing some of that even as we speak ... although focused on keeping the present warm. They already cooled the past in Grand Forks and Fargo. Or he's got one hell of a micro-climate. I haven't had time to dig into what GF etc has done. When people are walking around with light jackets on..... My Phoenix siblings were home last weekend for my dad's funeral. They were happy to head back to get out of the cold.

BLM a wolf in sheep's clothing "Newly Unearthed Comments from BLM Co-Founder: “We Are Trained Marxists”
ver the weekend, a 2015 video of Patrisse Cullors, a Black Lives Matter co-founder, resurfaced, where she explicitly said that she and others in the movement “are trained Marxists.”
In the video, Cullors was asked about “lack of ideological direction in Black Lives Matter,” and Cullors responded that, “We actually do have an ideological frame, myself and Alicia, in particular, are trained organizers. We are trained Marxists. We are super versed on, sort of, ideological theories.”
This makes sense, considering what the BLM website says about itself in its “What We Believe” section, according to the Daily Wire:"bongino.com/newly-unearthed-comments-from-blm-co-founder-we-are-trained-marxistsThe west is under attack and law enforcement are kneeling down Okay, back to the world where people think, rather than knee-jerk. I'm not even going to question whether the founder said that or in what context, although that might be relevant. So what? Does that mean the "movement" in general is Marxists? I don't think it follows at all. I also don't think any one group owns that name. I will freely say "Black lives matter" but I'm not Marxist in the least. I don't see anything in my African American coworkers who support the concept of "Black Lives Matter" that indicates Marxism - quite the opposite. In fact, I doubt said coworkers even subscribe to the idea that these two are spokespeople for "Black Lives" even though these two may have taken it upon themselves to brand themselves as such. I'm SO tired of hearing fear-speak like "The west is under attack ... " or "Our American way of life is threatened" etc. Granted, I have lived in China, Korea, and Japan - very "not western" countries, and of course, I found life there to be much different from what people in "the west" told me it would be like, and that includes China. But really? Every single person who raises a voice evokes a response from someone of something near and dear being "under attack" or someone wanting to destroy it. Meanwhile, I can walk down the sidewalk in the little town where I live and engage in capitalistic activities with the mom and pop shops along here, and another shocker: I can go to the waterfront area or Pike's Street Market and do the same. Chinatown? yep. CHOP, and activities like this are tempests in teapots. They certainly stir a lot of emotion ... and claims of "The west is under attack" and similar "Sky is falling" declarations seem to need to miss that in order to have their desired motivational effects. I'm not going along with it any more than I'm going along with the climate alarmists. Hear hear
