those who think tides and orbits around barycenters have nothing to do with climate Nautonnier As I recall you had the notion a barycenter must have some huge influence upon the Sun whereas Leif was saying the tidal influence was tiny. I did not even know what a barycenter was when I read your posts, but you were celibrating how amused you were by comments about them. Given how cocky you were about the topic I found it rather irritating when after I had researched the information and 'presented' it to the board, and frustratingly interacted with you about it, that you dissapeared without acknowledging you had been totally mixed up. I would guess therefore the main problem barycenters has for climate conversations is the one created by having to deal with the same ill thought out ideas time and time again. Edit: After i typed that out I found our comments about barycenters. solarcycle24com.proboards.com/post/95086/threadHere is a summary: 1. I asked you what point you were wanting to make about Barycenters, described what they were and you then said you agreed with me but2. you claimed Svaalgard was disputing what NASA was saying about Barycenters! 3. I said there was no way that Svaalgard could be disputing what NASA said 4. You produced a link to support your argument 5. After reading your link I pointed out Svaalbard was not disputing barycenters existed and you were muddled up 6. You dissapeared. ------------------------------ As I recall, the tide on the Sun created by the barycenter is about 10cm high! less than 1cm

I think this poster 'may' have been drunk. Or just another internet nutter.

In order to have any Global Warming science there must be a falsifiable Global Warming model (that isn't false). Without one, Global Warming cannot rise above the level of "religion." If anyone believes s/he has Global Warming science, please post the falsifiable Global Warming model into this thread. I prefer the actual model be posted into this thread, not the link, because thus far every single person who has posted a link has posted a bogus link that did not lead to the falsifiable Global Warming model (that isn't false). What are you talking about?? So far it sounds like gibberish to me.

Finland has been unusually mild all Winter. Hardly any minus degree days in February in Helsinki which is more or less unknown. I have been assuming winter would finally arrive but it seems like it will not.

First minus degree here in Finland with heavy frost on neighbours roof and strong winds. Leaves still on nearly all of the trees so we have gone from summer to 'winter' very quickly. Totally normal however, soon we will have snow then it will all melt again till around Christmas or later. It was another hot summer but its over now.

The Westbound Arctic Tern and Novara are still not yet clear Novara talks about "navigating through the Bellot Strait, then the rush south!" i have already given you details of a satellite phone on artic tern giving positions regularly. They approach cambridge bay having left gjoa. Novara left bellot many hours before Arctic tern. Novaras blog position report which is often many days out of date gives their position as west of gjoa.

The boats who abandoned a chance for a northwest passage this year are going to be a bit upset! Nasa has provided a very high resolution 24Meg TIFF picture of the more or less ice free passage upon which Doug Pohl is claiming you can see the boats underway! The version below is ordinary resolution.

At the last position report at least one hour ago Mango was passing down Bellot strait.

Mango was right at the top of franklin strait and was in lancaster sound/parry channel but now they might even be making a break for Bellot?

It seems that Doug Pohl was speculating regards Mango getting icebreaker support to come thru Bellot Strait. Mango has moved further north and looks more likely to be trying to get out via Peel Sound than Bellot strait. Also at this stage of the game getting icebreaker support when apparently it is available anyway without evoking 'international rescue', does not to me seem to me to be in the spirit of 'Phil the sailor' and his crew who have already spent last winter frozen into the Arctic sea.
