The EPA doesn't care what the economic effects are.

They've been clearing people off the land for years here in the UK so that they can turn the farms into golf courses Also there have been cases where people have moved to the countryside and complained about the smell of a farm that has been there for over 1000 years and action is taken against the farm, madness (the same has happened where churches ring their bells and they are stopped)

And today the UN FAO reported that food prices have reached an all time high. Google News - UN Food Prices .
Many reasons for this I suspect, including the fact that oil is pushing $100/bbl, gold, silver, and other commodities also high. And of course, environmental regulation of various sorts that raises the cost of production and distribution. Not looking forward to the next couple years. It could get ugly.

It will be even worse is this winter turns out to be as cold as some are forecasting/predicting.
I don't remember, did Shiela Jackson Lee's EPA dust regulations get passed/implemented?
