SolarHam got the date wrong. It's correctly posted as March 21 on the POTW page: The STEREO (Ahead) spacecraft caught this bright, substantial coronal mass ejection blast that emerged from the far side of the Sun, out of direct view from Earth (Mar. 21, 2011). Because it was from the far side (from Earth perspective), none of the ejected particle cloud was headed towards Earth. When that active region rotates around again, we?ll see if its potential power for generating solar storms remains as strong.

When I went to that message board, a fake virus scanner started running on my computer... I shut down, rebooted.. now no programs will start and thats the computer I edit my website on and have all the files. Im on my second computer right now. |

Wow I've been on that site for years and never had a problem. I use standard virus protection. I sure hope it is just a glitch.. |

Kevin, I may have missed this. Forgive me if you've already said it. Did you or Bob change the main page to Solarham.com? I clicked my usual link to the homepage today and it gave me an internet explorer connection problem. I'm on firefox now, and for safety's sake blocking gigya, doubleclick, cdnlayer and fastclick. About the only thing I'm letting through is proboards. Is everything ok?

SolarHam.com is the new domain... after a DOS attack.. I upgraded to a new faster server, create a new domain and forwarded anything from SolarCycle24.com to SolarHam.com . I also figured it was the right time to go to a better domain name.... once Cycle24 is over... dont want to have to keep changing numbers.
Still working on my computer, but no luck so far.

I am back up and running. Created a new user account on my computer, Ran as Administrator ... once in there, did system restore to an earlier date and that cleaned up the problem.

Thank Fricken God Yes, the page looks good and updated:) I hope that doesn't scare you off from our thread, it is active and using your site as reference quite frequently. Hopefully us over at GLP will be able to get you some paying users, I personally am too broke to help at the moment.. GLP gets millions of hits per day btw, and not many complaints about viruses. It must have been some kind of coincidence that you got one at the same time you followed the link I posted, sorry about that.. |

Keep up the good work and if we catch something that looks wrong on your site I'll try to point it out here. If there is a bright side you will be laid off near the peak of the Cycle. So set aside the month of August to finish off the paperwork chores associated being laid-off. By the week in September the HF Bands should be picking up big time.. BTW the Tee-Shirt thing is a good idea and I have an idea to expand on it. Put me down for several shirts ! |
