Stockholm´s max temperature only reached 6 C last Saturday, something that has not happened for more than 80 years in the month of June and was even lower than last Christmas Eve´s highest ! The poor runners in the Stockholm Marathon really had to fight for it: www.stockholmmarathon.se/start/content.cfm?Sec_ID=3715&Rac_ID=220&Lan_ID=3One week earlier temperatures were around 25 C...

Your not supposed to look at World temps. Only the record heat in the USA right now. They will move the focus to other record heat if that happens.
BTW not all the USA is hot. We here in what we call the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon, BC) are COLD. We are 5 - 8 degrees below normal and only had a could warm days so far.

'Sweden Records One Of Its Coldest and Wettest June Months Since Records Began In 1786" "On June 2, the temperature in Stockholm rose only to 6°C, the coldest high in 84 years, read more here. Earlier in the month one town recorded a temperature of 6°C below zero – the coldest June temperature in Sweden in 20 years. Snow even blanketed parts of northern Sweden. Normally in the month of June, the mercury rises to 25°C or more on just days 5 days on average. This June the mercury never reached that mark. In fact it didn’t even reach the 22°C mark. The high temperature for June in Stockholm was only 21.6°C. This is only the second time the temperature has failed to reach 25°C in June in 92 years." notrickszone.com/2012/06/28/sweden-records-one-of-its-coldest-and-wettest-june-months-since-records-began-in-1786/

"Record heat to linger, but some relief in sight. Debby continues to inundate Florida. By Weather Wizard on June 26, 2012"
Yesterday’s 100 degree reading at Scholes Field set the all-time high temperature record for Galveston for the month of June. With high pressure still dominant over the region, this extreme heat will continue for at least a couple of more days. On the plus side, humidity levels remain fairly low and an upper-level disturbance could actually bring some thunderstorms to our area later today.

Love practising my little Norwegian: "Så varmt har det aldri vært i mai På toppen finner vi Gvarv i Telemark med 30,6 grader!" 'So warm has it never been in May. As the highest point we have Gvarv in [the county of] Telemark with 30.6 degrees C.' Not very far from where Boxman lives, and the date was indeed May 24th, 2012! www.yr.no/nyheter/1.8156134

Of some interest here perhaps: "Mars ble den varmeste måneden som er registrert på 112 år. " The March [of 2012] became the warmest on the record for 112 years." www.yr.no/nyheter/1.8162949www.yr.no/nyheter/1.8051826I left this bit as a practice: "– Dette bekrefter at vi i den senere tiden har beveget oss mot et varmere klima, og at 'taket' for hvor høye temperaturer det er mulig å oppnå, etter all sannsynlighet har hevet seg på grunn av endringer i det globale klimaet, sier Thyness."
