Is that last one Surfers Paradise Ratty? When was it taken? Sure is, I would say after Cyclone Oma came close to the coast in late February.

So is this sea level rise or storm surge from an agitated ocean? Did anyone see any maids around??? " ...... The Walrus and the Carpenter Were walking close at hand; They wept like anything to see Such quantities of sand: If this were only cleared away,' They said, it would be grand!'
If seven maids with seven mops Swept it for half a year, Do you suppose,' the Walrus said, That they could get it clear?' I doubt it,' said the Carpenter, And shed a bitter tear. ..... "www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/43914/the-walrus-and-the-carpenter-56d222cbc80a9

The term "expert" is often used exceedingly loosely and is often in need of modifying adjectives.

Shelter Island yesterday...it wonβt be long now!π€π΄ββοΈ But in the interest of safety, now might be a good time to check the length of your snorkel tube. It's good to see that you locals keep raising the height of that jetty in the background. While I'm here, I been doing some proof reading for a friend who is working on historical Aussie temperatures; he is using archived images to point out changes in the siting of weather stations. Along the way, he has collected a few images that allow sea level comparison between 1940s and recent times....

Yes, I can see them. On some of the photos it almost looks like the sea level has fallen. But certainly nothing alarming. Can't really know the tide levels for sure.
