Apologies to the board; I have been battling a persistent bleed from the bladder (Radiation cystitis, the result of external beam radiotherapy for prostate back in 2011). I have spent most of August in and out of hospital and had a second cystoscopy this morning, looks positive. I won't attempt to keep up or post till something is medically resolved. I know the cause is in good hands. Hope you're all well. Wishing you all the best and a quick recovery, Mr. Rat. I had prostate cancer back in 2005. Had a radical followed by the usual follow up treatments, etc. Ruined a major part of my life. We should trade cystoscopy stories some day. I had a number of them to remove scar tissue. A barbaric procedure if there ever was one! Just got back from a 15-hour return journey from the Gulf. Grueling. No matter what your "warmest" acquaintances say, you ARE NOT expendable to us deplorables. We expect you back in the saddle shortly!  |

It is difficult to think of anything more misguided and dangerous than promoting people in a nuclear research facility based on skin color. It is NOT based on 'race' that is an americanism for skin color. This is about as sensible as putting Tamils and Igbos in the same group. This approach of only skin color matters is uniquely American. There is plenty of friction between Turks and Armenians yet Americans would call both of these different races 'caucasian'. Any distinction/discrimination for any reason based on ethnicity or skin color should be made a federal offense. Even if the offenders were doing it for what they thought were good intentions or to 'right old wrongs'. What is now happening is that the marxists have found a weak spot in the behavior of many Americans and they are using it to break up civil behavior in this country. They are succeeding beyond their wildest dreams as it is seen as 'woke' to try to right imagined wrongs from centuries ago. And as managers try to out-woke each other the companies and the country crashes. A lot of the 'history' being claimed is fake too. The Hollywood version of history 'roots' and so on. The slave trade continues today unabated. Whites made up the majority of Slaves at the time of American independence. The largest 'slaver' group was the Islamic Ottoman Empire that was only broken up by the first world war. The US Navy and US Marine corps was (re)founded to fight white slavers 'the Barbary Pirates' - the first overseas operation by the USMC was against the Barbary Pirate white slavers. Islamic countries and groups continue with slavery today and in North Africa - ask how the Yazidis did when ISIS took over their region. Have you seen any antifa demonstrations outside mosques? So all this pretend offense for slavery is based on lack of historic understanding much of it based on Hollywood stories and it is being used very effectively for politics. Perhaps Hollywood could be persuaded to do a historic film on the effects of Oliver Cromwell's depopulation of Ireland by shipping men, then women then their children to Virginia, Bermuda and the Caribbean more of them than black slaves to the American colonies. And as the Irish were 'free' just loaded on board ships and British government paid the ships masters to take them away, they got treated worse. Not many history books will talk of the British government transporting slaves but they were. It is in the past get over it. Anyone who cannot get over the past can do a few years in a federal prison. |
