It should be powered by its own windfarm One or two NOAA climate admins and a couple hundred pounds of beans ought to do the trick.

And there it was gone "Arecibo Observatory brings forward 'controlled demolition' plans by collapsing all by itself Star of science and celluloid is no more
That's that then. The Arecibo Observatory appears to have been destroyed with the collapse of the platform previously suspended above the giant dish.
Before and after shots of the facility show the triangular platform, which had hung over the dish, is no longer in place."More Here: www.theregister.com/2020/12/01/arecibo_collapse/I had read that the science groups using the Arecibo dish had been using money that should be used for maintenance of the dish and suspended structure for other things. Then the first suspension steel cable failed showing why they needed to continually spend that money on maintenance in Puerto Rico rather than on projects back in the US. Sad but expected of current day academics

Give them their independence.

Another mysterious monolith appears, this time on California’s Central Coast - Reports of another one in Romania www.latimes.com/california/story/2020-12-03/mysterious-monolith-appears-southern-california-atascaderoDoes someone have a new hobby? Local officials seemed concerned that this was done without a permit. The Utah monolith had been placed without permission on public land. In Romania, a journalist with a local publication reported that a monolith also disappeared after being found on a hill. A local official said that structure was placed without permission as well.

Twelve Reasons I Voted Democratas published in the opinion page of a local newspaper – 12 reasons why the author voted Democrat in the most recent election
Dear Editor,
Here are the twelve reasons why I voted Democratic:
I voted Democratic because I love the fact that I can now marry whatever I want. I may now marry my Labrador. I voted Democratic because I believe oil companies’ profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene, but the Government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn’t. I voted Democratic because I believe the Government would do a better job of spending the money I earn that I would. I voted Democratic because Freedom of Speech is fine as long as I agree with what was said & nobody was offended by it. I voted Democratic because I’m way too irresponsible to own a gun and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves. I voted Democratic because I believe that the people who can’t tell us if it will rain on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will melt in 10 years if I don’t drive a Prius. I voted Democratic because I’m not concerned about the millions of babies being aborted so long as we keep all death row inmates alive. I voted Democratic because I think illegal aliens have a right to free health care, education and Social Security benefits, and we should take away the Social Security from those who paid into it. I voted Democratic because I believe businesses should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the Government for redistribution as the Democrats see fit. I voted Democratic because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters. I voted Democratic because I think it’s better to pay billions for their oil to people who hate us but not drill our own because it might upset some endangered beetle, spotted owl, gopher or fish. I voted Democratic because my head is so misplaced toward the south end of my body, it’s unlikely that I’ll ever have another point of view. No trees, spotted owls, or Red cock-headed Woodpeckers were harmed in the sending of this message — James W. Anderson, Talladega

At one point during a game, the coach called one of his 9-year-old baseball players aside And asked,
"Do you understand what co-operation is? What a team is?"
"Yes, coach", replied the little boy. "
Do you understand that what matters is whether we win or lose together as a team?"
The little boy nodded in the affirmative.
"So," the coach continued, "I'm sure you know, when an out is called, you shouldn't argue, curse, attack the umpire, or call him an not a very nice person. Do you understand all that?"
Again, the little boy nodded in the affirmative.
The coach continued, "And when I take you out of the game so that another boy gets a chance to play, it's not a dumb ass decision or that the coach is a sh1thead, is it?"
"No, coach."
"Good", said the coach. "Now go over there and explain all that to your grandmother ..."
