A crowd of people with axes chopping down their office doors might improve their attitude. What do you think Blu? Any forecast? Debate continues over whether natural gas can be a "bridge" to carbon-free renewable energy, or whether the fossil fuel must be fought to block climate change.
When it's -10 C in their living room, their hearts, minds and votes may follow. Mo’boy- NYS is in the complete control of NYC. Upstate NY’s economy is depressed and at the mercy of corrupt downstate politicians on both sides of the isle. Upstate NY is sitting on top of perhaps the richest section of the Marcellus Shale formation. If it was developed it would rapidly transform the lives of millions. However, there will be NO development, NO improvement to the energy infrastructure, NO voices heard from anybody except NYC’s until NYC needs it. There are a lot of smart, clear thinking folks in this state. This state has beautiful areas and is rich with natural resources. It’s a shame that we are controlled by a mob of selfish morons. Urban vs Rural values, this is the great divide in America. California and NYS are the poster children.

Beautiful country. Perhaps you could give NYC back to the Lenape Tribe with the condition that they build a wall.

Just Looked at Old Farmers Almanac 2018-19 Winter Forecast
How wildly different. Someone's gonna smell incredibly bad at the end. Not saying who. But they can't all be right. That's the map I like, see the line between mild and wet and mild and snowy? That is the ridge-line along the Cascade Mountains aka Mt. Baker, Mt. Rainer, Mt. Saint Helen, Mt. Hood, and down to Mt. Shasta. There are some really strange meso-climate forecasts on that map for the Southwest. Yes it's small. But. the high Colorado Plateau is "warm and wet" while Phoenix & the deserts are "cold and snowy"? Blind cartographer? AND ... Eastern Kansas to Central Missouri is a snow pocket?? Like to see the mechanics for that.

Almost forgot I wanted to throw out a hunch it might be windy on the West Coast this Winter. Careful with those hunches, Code. You could end up with your own police TV drama series. My gut says so .....

I have calendarised that Environment Canada prediction to check it out in March 2019. Let's see how it pans out.

Forecasts by those I monitor are all over the place at the mo.
Astro, maybe solely, is forecasting a late, then cold winter.
Mostly the idea is earlier, maybe front loaded winter.
Still early days I feel as the classic winter signals have yet to establish, those who wait to see how NAO, Siberian snow and polar vortex strength will probably nail down a more solid forecast in a few weeks (8 maybe??)
Think the mice will be separated from the men this year!
Personally, id like to see Astro getting it right. If his astrometeorology has any value it would win hands down in the long range predictive category....

Big Joe's winter forecast is out. "Will come early and stay late." My prediction is: Warm air being displaced by cold air followed by gradually warming air...I’m pretty sure🤓 I stand firm on my August 11 prediction...NO equivocation...none! 😐

Fall has arrived in Seattle, nights are getting chilly, the trees are turning. Long time to go here - leaves do not 'turn' in Florida, and fall is around March/April when the old leaves are dumped and replaced with new ones.
