Yes of course. But you made a probabilistic forecast for drought in Indonesia ("Drought *can* occur..." my emphasis. The word "can" here implies probability as it refers to a future possibility) and then used an observation of floods to validate your forecast.
That's by the by since the floods were obviously related to the La Nina conditions - which undermines Icefisher's defence that La Nina-type weather didn't appear till December (and there were of course the heavy rains in Queensland at the back end of last year (traditional 2010).

Oh come on. There you go *again* - nickel-and-diming and more nickel-and-diming and turning things into whatever you want with your *probabilistic* ideology. Like you do with the Octagon. Just what kinds of *tutors* did you have Steve?

I never can remember which is a nickel and which is a dime when I go to the States. So is it possible that I'm actually dime-and-nickeling?

You know, you do a lot of this, coming onto threads with bs on subjects (climate, weather, ice age, polls, etc.) and make all kinds of the dumbest comments and statements imaginable. Just what attracts you to climate science and meteorology where you go around calling people "liars" and making "mistakes" when you cannot count, read, or even make sense of what you are talking about?

Don't project onto me kid. The only "dense" one on this board is clearly you - pestering everyone with the lie of man-made global warming and your constant " LOLs." Some scientific term, huh? Stop trolling on threads Matt. Get a life.

If that ever happens - God forbid - then you can't blame me. I was never in the AGW camp to begin with and if I ever even dreamed it I would have to wake up and apologize.

We're still in a La Nina climate going into March. Sydney records driest summer in 8 years."Although La Nina has produced above average rainfall for most of the country this summer, Sydney has recorded its driest summer in eight years and its hottest in five. 'Sydney has only recorded just over 150mm of rain this summer, making it the city's driest summer in eight years and well below our average of nearly 300mm,' Tom Saunders, meteorologist at The Weather Channel, says. See -> www.smh.com.au/environment/weather/sydney-records-driest-summer-in-eight-years-20110225-1b7q6.htmlFrom North To South, Spring To Bring Extremes"Much of the northern and western USA will likely shiver through below-average temperatures the next three months, a new spring forecast says, while the South continues to struggle with severe drought conditions." Big cold spot appeared off Ecuador in the last week. Maybe this Niña still has some life in it.

Big cold spot appeared off Ecuador in the last week. Maybe this Niña still has some life in it. Been following it. There is also a strong lunar perigee coming up for the full moon week starting March 18-19 - expecting strong storms and seismic activity considering the raising of the land, air and sea tides. A second lunar perigee follows with the full moon of April 17-18.

NOAA predicts return to ENSO-neutral conditions by summer.
30-day SOI remains in NINA mode.
