Don't you think it would be prudent for those folks living at high latitudes to be examining the possibility of a cooling world? The "high latitude governments" experience "global cooling" winters as a matter of routine already. It's likely the effects of increased CO2 would compensate, in fact more than compensate, for any exceptionally long solar minimum. That would be in any case decades away, and the CO2 concentration will rise further in the meantime.

Astromet, the DMI arctic temp graph is loved by many. Now could you please show where the "presently happening" Arctic cooling is to be found on the graph? ocean.dmi.dk/arctic/meant80n.uk.php

Continuing to speak as a complete amateur, I think the bit that matters is the period above freezing.
This year it was around half the normal length, at about 45 days.
Much shorter, and snow will not melt off Northern Siberia and the Canadian Arctic islands in Summer.

It is a trace gas, necessary for life, nothing more, nothing less. The increasing levels in the past century have had little to no measurable affect on planetary temperatures. Year after year passes, dire prediction after dire prediction fails. Every single TESTABLE prediction made by the alarmist crowd have not only failed to come true, but real world measurements have gone in the opposite direction. The only thing the alarmists have learned, is to not make predictions that can be tested, and to hide their methods. There have been small scale crop failures around the world due to abnormally cold weather. There have been larger scale animal die offs in the past few years, from extreme winter storms. Don't you think it would be more prudent to examine what might happen on a cooling planet than to throw good money after bad chasing the CAGW boogeyman?

Typical. Teach a kid some skills and put him in control of some the world's most powerful computers he is going to think he owns the world. Now F-16 fighter pilots really do but its a world apart from "F16 Multirole Fighter Game" Hmm and you believe this because your friend told you? Let us consider bush planes www.bush-planes.com/ because, really, bush pilots do own the world. www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqrjbAKdIMA Amazing....that is skill!!!!!!

Numerouno, You keep pretending that CO2 is a major player in our climate. Yes, that is what I do. Got a problem with that?

I think why is someone so interested in what I think?
I think they instead should think more of whose thoughts they themselves think.

Astromet, the DMI arctic temp graph is loved by many. Now could you please show where the "presently happening" Arctic cooling is to be found on the graph? ocean.dmi.dk/arctic/meant80n.uk.phpNumeronuo, As an expert forecaster, I often seen amateurs use graphics to then add to their ideological stance without even understanding what is happening in the real world of climate, especially when measured scientifically. Again, 'man-made global warming' CANNOT OCCUR ON EARTH. It is an impossibility according to the laws of physics. The only thing that can cause planetary global warming AND planetary global cooling, is the SUN. That is a fact and the facts do not cease to exist because people choose to ignore them. And, as others have repeatedly reminded you, C02 is a 'trace gas' that has nothing at all to do with global warming, which is naturally caused, by the activity, condition and magnetic output of the Sun, which governs all climate on Earth. The SUN contains 99.8 percent of the total mass of our solar system. So, how anyone (including you) can actually say with a straight face that a trace gas of C02 can alter the Earth's climate, much less 'change' it to global warming is beyond any kind of belief - even in fiction. It CANNOT happen. The laws of physics state so. Period. The Sun is the cause of all climate change. And it is natural. And this is also another FACT: That the Arctic's significant ice growth, combined with what is happening in the Antarctic, has resulted in record-high global sea ice. The fact is that the Earth has gained somewhere in the neighborhood the size of 19,000 city of Manhattans of sea ice since 2012. And that is largest increase on record by observation and measurement. There is now more sea ice than in 2002 - that's 11 years ago. This is a trend. And we will continue to witness sea ice expand, both in the arctic and antarctic. We are on the path to global cooling, and at present, we are four (4) years away from the official start of global cooling, according to my long-range climate forecast. I have always stated that global cooling will begin, officially, in 2017, and it will. We are now in-between the waning of solar-forced global warming and the waxing of solar-forced global cooling. These interim transition years I call the 'extremes of weather,' and we will continue to see extreme weather events that lead to global cooling officially beginning in mid-December 2017 and lasting approximately 36 years. That's my long-range climate forecast.

So you decided to add your own "ideological stance", well done sir. Now sir Higly Esteemed Expert, where is the "present Arctic Cooling" evident in the DMI Arctic Temp Graph above?

There is no 'ideological stance' in astronomic forecasting Numerouno. The climate is the climate and resultant weather is the weather and that's that. It always been that way since the origin of the Earth. As for the arctic cooling, of course there is. And I don't place a lot of value in your graph either since many of these graphics pulled from climate institutions are also rife with ideology and that's not forecasting, nor is it depicting what is taking place in the real world of climate and weather. For instance, notice how the super-computers have failed miserably: in their predictions:

GLOBAL ASTROLOGY
* MUNDANE ASTROLOGER THEODORE WHITE FORECASTS ON WORLD EVENTS* 21ST CENTURY ASTROLOGY * FORECASTS ON WEATHER THAT'S OUTER & INNER PLANE... NEWS * ASTROPHYSICAL * GEOPHYSICAL * TRANSITS * CURRENT EVENTS * SIGNS * THE FUTURE * MUNDANE FORECASTS * ASTRONOMY * ASTROJOURNALISM * ECONOMICS * MYSTERIES * PROPHECY * NATAL ASTROLOGY * ASTROTHEOLOGY * GNOSIS * SCIENCE * WISDOM * AND PRACTICAL COMMONSENSE AS GLOBAL EVENTS APPLY TO THE WHOLE AND NOT SIMPLY TO THE SUM OF ITS OWN PARTS.

Jupiter's motion here into the Sign ruled by the Moon, as well as the Sign the United States is under, calls for serious attention to the trends which have led to this time since the negative events of September 11, 2001 and into 2002, when Jupiter last left tropical Gemini and entered Cancer.
When I'm witnessing there is a person who says Jupiter's motions brought about 9/11, I just don't know whether to laugh or cry. A heck of a way to make a living, I suppose.

if that is the claim I'm with you Num. For me, the most irritating part of Theos statements on climate is the way he announces he knows better than some of the greatest scientists who have ever lived. There is a whole group of such freakophysics practitioners on this board and unfortunately they are so dominating that almost no sane newcomer to this board is going to hang around in what is essentially a madhouse. It is a pity for example that Socold and Steve are no longer active here when we discuss fairly simple physics such as latent heat, or the ability of the sun to increase the temperature of earthly objects which begin cooling less.

It is a pity for example that Socold and Steve are no longer active here when we discuss fairly simple physics such as latent heat, or the ability of the sun to increase the temperature of earthly objects which begin cooling less. SoCold and Steve both were forecasting a continual rise in temperatures - steve had already admitted that 15 years without a temperature rise would make him reconsider. With the current dialling back of the climate sensitivity by the IPCC and its acceptance that the warming has 'paused' some positions are difficult to sustain. Trying to invent your own version of physics does not change what the climate is doing. Trying to argue points with 'members of a blog' rather than accepting university course lesson notes, scientific papers and meteorological studies that all say the opposite to your view, is a strange approach. It does not alter the current published science - even if you believe it is 'freakish'.
