Well this should be the warmest year on record. It seems bound to create an early breakup.

Local weather is not always a good measure of global ( and vice versa) so I would n't be too sure for just that reasoning? We could see cold grey days from now until june over that area? As it is there is a lot of area covered by the catchment feeding the river to this point and , if the past few years of McKensie breakup are anything to go by, warming upstream will eat the ice from the bottom up even if the 'local weather' is not allowing thaw from above. Add to that the debris flowing downstream ( held all winter in ice) and you can see how an early breakup could occur?
